Hi Everyone,

The new version of FormEmailer can be downloaded here:

If you have any issues going forward with this version, please post bugs or questions here:

I have decided not to publish this as a Google Sheets Add-on; it would push back the release of this new version. So, the installation will be have a few more steps than the old version (but I believe in all of you!)

Google wanted me to re-write most of the UI (again) to conform to their UI policies, which would take too much time for what it's worth, in my opinion

No plans for a video tutorial, but please post any questions you have and I'll be happy to help

In a post on another thread you had a screenshot that showed Email 1 and Email 2 options.  How do I get that on this finished project?  Or how do I send the form data to more than 1 person?  Also, I did not get the "This app is not verified" page when I installed it and set it up, but it is working.  Thanks again for all of your help on this!!

If you go to "FormEmailer" > "Settings" > "Advanced" and change Qtt Emails to 2. Save and re-open settings

Does Version V4 overcome the issue related to getting the error message" UiApp being depreciated" When you try to go to the settings for the prior FormEmailer?

Hi,

I wanted to upgrade existing FormEmailer script. I copied the files to the script http://bit.ly/2Gu873c, but when I want to execute following:

  1. Click "FormEmailer" > "Settings"
  2. You should see a prompt asking if you would like to update your version of FormEmailer
I do not see the prompt, Insted, I am geting the message about unsuported UI, use html service. Any idea how to proceed?

Thanx

I'm getting "No HTML file name Install was found" when I try to Install it.
I apologize for not knowing how this all works.
I just copied the FormEmailer script into the Script editor.
Usually I just click Install and it works.
I noticed there was an Install HTML in the ZIP file but I'm not sure what to do with that.
Thanks for any help you can give.
I really do want this to work.

You do in fact have to copy all the files into the project.

While in the script editor, go to File -> New -> HTML. It will ask for a name, put in install.

Then edit the file and paste the contents of the install.html file from the zip file into the script editor.

Repeat this process for about.html, fix-sheet.html, and settings.html. You stated that you already did code.gs, but for anyone else who sees this: you also have to copy the contents of Code.gs.txt from the zip file into Code.gs in the script editor.

I have tried to open the files for "about" "settings" "Install" and "Fix sheet" but cannot get them to open.  I've tried opening them to a clip board or notes as well as a variety of other places and they will not open.  The only file I was able to see was the code, which I have successfully copied, pasted and saved in the right file.  Any suggestions would be helpful and appreciated.  Thanks. Keri

Sounds like you might be using a Mac?

Try opening the Text Editor app (or whatever it's called on Mac) first, and then use File -> Open and select the HTML file.

Thanks for doing this update!

I managed to successfully install the updated formEmailer, but because this is used twice in the same Sheet, I had the old formEmailer renamed. I tried doing that with the new update, changing the NAME = 'firstEmailer';

When I do that, everything seems to break. The error it gives is: TypeError: Cannot read property 'menuFix' of undefined (line 136, file "Code")

Any idea what I can do to fix this other than not having two formEmailers on the same Sheet? Open to ideas! i tried removing the try{} catch{} but left the menu intact but that seemed to break when it calls VERSION later down.

Sorry for the delay.  I add the files to the script editor but do not see the FORMEMAILER option until I run the INSTALL from the Script Editor.  I goes through the same prompts and it appears to install but when I now click on the FORMEMAILER on the menu of the spreadsheet and click on settings I get the error msg: Malformed HTML content: var NAME = 'FormEmailer'://used as menu and settings sheet name...

When I click on details I get a box with a lot of text which looks like the settings for the email but I can only click ok and nothing else after that.  I'm stuck!  Please any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

Did you follow the instructions found here? https://github.com/clyall/FormEmailer
In my case, I had to re-install the script, I began by creating the HTML files as instructed and renamed the old code.gs to oldcode.gs and created the new script file called code.gs where the new code was copied. Then the FormEmailer button appeared in the spreadsheet and I was able to install it, although I lost my options it was not a big deal and I was able to update the settings to my liking, the main difference is there are no buttons to insert the placemarkers so you'll have to use #columnname# to insert them etc.

If you could let us know where you are having issues that would help us help you better.
