Help on Error sending email Exception: Invalid email:

Noob to scripting and for the life of me cannot find a solution to my problem.

I have a form populated with a list of email addresses to send approvals to.
Formatting of the drop down list is "First Name Last Name <us...@domain.com>" See eg. below.

Now the place holder in the FormEmailer settings is set for this field.  But I know it's coming up with an error because it has the first name and last name before the email address.  Is there a proper script to place for this to be recognized correctly and populate the email address with still having Name prior to?  And where would I place it? See settings eg. below.

Jason,

You have to write a formula in a new column to extract the email from this text. Then use this column as a placeholder (you'll also need to set the formulas location parameter). Take a look here:
