Help on costs in Mauritania...

Hi everyone,
I was a PCV in Mauritania (Kankossa) from 2001-3 and am now working on a PhD in Anthropology. I hope to get back there this summer (inshallah) to do some research in Nouakchott. I am working on writing a budget for a grant proposal -- if any of you have been to Nkt recently and have any idea of how much the following things might cost, I would really appreciate any information. Or if any of you have any idea of where to get information like this.
Apartment rental -- per month? week?
Hotel stay?
Average cost of meal -- I would guess that $10 a day for food would be way more than enough?
Transportation costs? When I was there I think a taxi was about 300 Ougiya?
I will mine the Lonely Planet and other guide books, but RPCVs always know better than them. Any help will get you good karma forever!!!
