Matt Gould's show in NYC

Hi, everyone,

I hope this finds you well, wherever you are. I know this goes to a large group of people spread out pretty much all over the place. The focus, however, for this e-mail is to people on the East Coast. I have already done a separate mailing to the folks who live in the NYC area, but this is to catch others who may be in DC - commutable to NYC if you want to get away for a weekend.

Matt Gould, 2001-2003, won the Jonathan Larson award for his original show entitled Moonlight in Manchego. His show was selected to be presented this year at the New York Musical Theater Festival, to be held in NYC from 9/15 to 10/5. (See the festival website at www.nymf.org.)

According to the website, tickets go on sale to the public on 9/1, so there is plenty of time to get tickets if you would like to see the show. I am writing now to alert the out-of-towners that the only weekend evening performance will be Saturday, 9/27, so I targeted that date as the one to which all interested Mauritania RPCVs, friends, dates, and loved ones can go en masse. I am in touch with Matt about this, so when I get a head count, he can probably get the seats set aside.

He doesn't know yet what theater it will be playing in.

For those of you in DC -- a huge number of you -- I imagine you get to NYC occasionally, when the spirit moves you, and if there is a good reason. Perhaps this is a good reason????

If you think that this is something you would like to attend, and have a chance for a bunch of us to get together, too, please shoot me an e-mail and I will start keeping a list.

As for housing, you probably already know which RPCV is living in the NYC area. My list has fourteen on it, but there must be more.

This may be your last chance to see Matt before he gets all big-headed and forgets all of us "little people."

Hope to hear from you.

Masalaam,

Jay
