A Salaam aLeykum!
Hi this is Peter Schlesinger from 1985-1987, aka Samba Ndiaye who,
threw Lydia in the Ambassador´s swimming pool, asked all of you not to
smoke pot in the Nouakchott maison, lived down in Pulaar-land, used
toilet paper sometimes, drove a red Honda three wheeler, and mostly
asked for a fork at public gatherings. No Mbaat da tampere? No Mbaat
da e galle ma? I´m still the same old guy I used to be. Am recently
divorced (five months) and am living in the Jesus Maria District of
Lima, Peru, while working on the 14th floor of Edificio Bolivar at the
corner of Bolivar and Larco in Miraflores. The world sure seems like a
different place from here... I sure hope that some one of you starts
some conversation on this list. I have been thinking of all of you.
Whatever happened to Loretta Colucci from Bagodine and Bobbi Goodwin
from the that tiny village north of MBagne? You folks are in my mind
all the time and I sure wish you are doing well. I have this
recollection of annoying you Bobbi and never apologizing. Well I
apologize here and now! What did I do? Does anyone have a picture of
me and Marybeth Souza on my three wheeler, with a bag of potatoes
strapped to the front carrier and our gear and a goat on the back,
headed to MBs birthday party at Hydaras house in Kaedi where we ate
the goat? I sure wish I had that photo. Did anyone ever produce a
useful Pulaar to English lexicon for the Fuuta Tooro? Mine is on
Amazon, but no copies are available there. I have one in a box
somewhere. Who else here holds the recognition of having read every
novel in the Kaedi maison de passage? Has anyone heard of computers
making it to Fuuta villages? How many mopeds do you have to use for
parts to make one that works? Please forget the bashfulness folks, and
do write...
Hugs and kisses!
Peter
