Thiswould currently require a custom module - capturing screenshots from web browsers is a surprisingly complicated problem. Your best bet in the short term might be to try to train users to use built-in browser tools - new versions of Firefox, for instance, have a very powerful built in screenshotting tool.
I have a customer that would like to screenshot their charts from a timeseries chart. They asked about taking screenshots within a perspective app. An image export method on the time series chart would satisfy their wants.
There are some security considerations to make with screenshots (for the browser vendors that is). In the old days, you could have an iframe. If you take a screenshot of that, it could potentially show data from a logged in user on a different site.
OP here. I'm also still interested in this feature, but it looks like it hasn't moved anywhere. I would still like this for easier end-user use of a "Support Portal" type tool. For now, we're just having the user take a snippet and then upload the file. It works, but auto-screenshots would be much nicer with just one simple click.
But Im not able to call it to de Ignition project, right? I should make it outside of Ignition and use it outside of Ignition, isnit?
Sorry, but I`m not so skilled in this kind of thing.
Regards,
I don't need a screenshot of my problem. I have been trying to buy credits to play computer games but the Microsoft form will not give me the option to select my State, which is Victoria. I have reported this problem many times over the past few days but the problem remains.
To capture a screenshot on Windows 10, I simply hold down the Windows key, press Shift, and then click the 'S' key. Afterward, I'm able to select the specific area on the screen that I want to capture. This is always the easiest way for me and then I grab a subway specials today.
@Iceni_777 you could maybe try shift+windows key+S in that respective order. Do not press them at the same time and keep the previous key down when pressing the next one. After that you can select the part of the screen you want to screenshot and then in order to save it you need to click on the notification that will pop up. The notification will open a new tab and then you have to manually save it. I hope this helped!
Recommend a totally free and safe ( developed by a commercial brand) snipping tool. It can capture for various needs - take notes, add elements, etc. Hot keys can be customized according to your habits. Most importantly, it's safe and free of all kinds of ads, which is quite annoying when I use other free software.
To take a screenshot on Windows 10, press the "Windows Key + PrtScn" to capture the entire screen and save it to the "Screenshots" folder. Press "Alt + PrtScn" to capture the active window, and paste it using "Ctrl + V." Use the "Snipping Tool" for more options. For Windows 10 keys, use Hype-stKey, a partner of Microsoft.
@Reck says there's a bug in the Genymotion implementation so we can't take screenshots on 2.3.7. This means that Android Studio / DDMS can't get the proper pixels. adb shell screencap says there's no screencap command.
Run your app on a connected device or emulator. If using a connected device, be sure you have enabled USB debugging. In Android Studio, select View > Tool Windows > Logcat to open Logcat.Select the device and a process from the drop-down at the top of the window.Click Screen Capture on the left side of the window. The screenshot appears in a Screenshot Editor window
I think this would helpful for linux people with the screen shots with framerate for bgra ones over 90 fps, rgb around 2fps and gray also 2fps(I could use help how to fix that) and offset of originx, origin y are available and width and height of screenshot are definable:
Which is pretty fast but then when I have to something similiar for RGB, Gray it becomes a issue
RGB.(res), Gray.(res) are quite slow for realtime purposes and I am not able to think of faster solution atm.
I have read about this in some questions here , and tried almost all their solutions but none of them have worked for me for one reason or other.I want to take a snapshot from google maps, directions window which need to be scrolled to see full with given details in the image, i want.
The reasons for not working are like e.g. If I used DuckCapture or PicPick to capture a google map directions page which needed scrolling, this app automatically caused the map to zoom out and loose details(mouse scroll wheel in google maps acts as zoom-in/out, which is same for scrolling down a page!)
I am sure there is a simpler way to capture a screen shot of a large google maps window which has to be scrolled, than having to take multiple captures, and then stitch those individual images together in Photoshop!
How do I disable or remove capture? The screenshot URLs do not work for some reason. I just want to go back to the old dropbox screenshot URLs. I've uninstalled dropbox capture and unchecked/rechecked the dropbox settings in the regular dropbox app, but my screenshot URLs still use the capture domain. Those do not work, they just return a 404, every time. Additionally, they do not unfurl in slack, and other users then have to download capture to view. This is so frustrating, how do I remove it?
Before when I took a screenshot from my Mac, it would upload the file to dropbox and give me a public link, normally with dl=0 at the end. Now it gives me a capture link and when I view this, it takes me to the dropbox website. However a big big feature was to take a screenshot and embed them into an email/support ticket so they could view it, inline in their emails, without needed to click to an external site. This no longer works as the URL is now pointing to capture. How do I turn this off? I don't mind it for videos, but single static screenshots need to be an image I can embed. This has also broken the slack functionality, and people only see a capture link now and not the image.

Hi @Subgiant, how are you doing?
Have you tried uninstalling the Capture app on your end?
Also, if you access the app's preferences and then go under the Backups tab, do you have any relevant options there?
Let me know more.
It's not the old link style that worked in Slack and other programs, I've uninstalled Capture (but this was a useful program) I just want the image on it's own and not the dropbox website. This used to be the case until the last couple of days.
It happens on ALL of my screenshots. I either get a 404, or sometimes I get a notification that it is uploading but it never does (days later, still nothing there). This is not just for me but also for those who I'm trying to share the screenshot URL with.
But either way, I just want to get back to the way it was, I do NOT want to use capture at all, how do I remove it? How do I remove capture all together so that my screenshot URLs are like the second example above (
dropbox.com vs
capture.dropbox.com)?
Also Megan, I just want to be very clear, I do not have any desire to use Capture, I want it gone, removed (I've uninstalled it etc, so I shouldn't be having this issue at all). Capture has been nothing but problematic.
It appears that other responses on here to those with the same issue I'm having, are bypassing that and offering getting Capture to work. So I want to specify and make sure it's really clear - thats not my question and not what I'm after at all, I don't have any interest in getting capture to work at this point. I'm asking How do I disable or remove capture?
But what I don't want to do is waste anymore time on capture, if there isn't a way to just revert back like I'm asking, then Dropbox is moot for me as this is the main reason I use it. And if thats the case, I'll just remove Dropbox and go back to using Google Drive (at least those URLs unfurl in slack).
I need to prevent screen capture by users of my app, for security reasons. The contents I display are confidential and should not be copied onto the device. I saw one answer on Stack Overflow, but for Android.
There's no way to prevent taking screenshots entirely. You can do what Snapchat does, which is by requiring the user to be touching the screen to view whatever information you're displaying. This is because the system screenshot event interrupts touches. It's not a perfect method and you can't prevent users from taking screenshots 100% of the time.
It's been a while, but I just came across ScreenShieldKit, which is a patent-pending technology used by the messaging app Confide. What it does is that it let's the user take screenshots, but the content is blank on the end picture. They recently released the iOS version.
You can prevent screen capture and screen recording of a specific view in your app by using this custom view. Also, you can add your own placeholder that will only show when the user tries to screen capture or screen record.
To capture an image of your entire screen, simply press the Print Screen button (PrtSc). This will copy the screenshot to your clipboard. You can then open any program that allows you to insert images, such as Paint, Microsoft Word, or PowerPoint, and paste the screenshot by pressing Ctrl-V.
