Good morning Digital Inclusion forgr-ers, I've posted a revised draft
of the Mission Statement. But I can't do it alone, please weigh in,
edit, poke holes...

Click on http://groups.google.com/group/forgr/web/mission-statement -
or copy & paste it into your browser's address bar if that doesn't
work.

Thank you for participating in the conversation,

Marie-Claire

I really hate to go here, but...........shouldn't you stipulate
somehow exactly which people you intend to provide these laptops
to......or do you plan to provide them to whoever walks in the door?

And in version B, I have a wording suggestion. Where it says, "and
connect with his or her community in a meaningful manner," I would
substitute the following: "and connect with their communities in
meaningful ways,"

That's a great point, so far we've thrown out this process on the
forgr.wordpress.com blog
They would have to:
1. Be able to fill out an application (name, address, phone, intended
use, references?)
2. Agree to terms of appropriate terms of use
3. Get approved (tbd what that really means)
4. Volunteer or contribute to the community in some way
5. Attend orientation
6. Stay connected (tbd what that really means too...)

I had "...connect with their community..." but that's plural right? Or
am I just hung up on expressing that it's one person?

Yes, plural it is.......but then again, so is "individuals."
The way it's worded, its not just one individual....it's all of them....right?

Are you able to edit the page directly? Wiki-style? If so, give a shot
at changing it up... feel free, I won't be offended in the slightest.
