Year 2008 is almost gone and a new one to begin. Volunteers slowed down upon Thanksgiving holiday. One of our blessings was a church from Lilburn, Georgia came and cooked Thanksgiving dinner for 60 plus people. It was grand and special. The servant being served. It was hard to be served but it was a blessing to let go and let others help out, let others share in the burden. We all had an enjoyable time and ate plenty.

During this time Marcy and I were planning to get married Nov 30th. It was short notice but things were done on a small scale with only around 20-25 people invited, which were mostly CLC Staff.  So marriage licenses and blood tests were the order of the day which we did Thanksgiving week and it was a short week. So we had favor from above and we got the blood tests  in order to get the license in time before the offices closed. Whoooweeee.

Our wedding day was supposed to start at 630am, Nov 30th Sunday. The previous days it was raining and many people asked me if we had a plan B. I stated to them no, that it was not going to rain and that we would even have sunshine despite what the weather reports were saying. My wife to be even asked me what was Plan B, she was fearful but I told her don’t worry it will be perfect. That morning a grooms worst nightmare the bride did not show up at 630am. She showed up at 7AM due to a broken zipper on the dress. As she walked down the sand castle aisle the sun started to come out right behind me, as it shown on her face I knew God in heaven was blessing us and smiling upon us. It was a wonderful wedding on the beach.

A barn fire was lit for warmth, sand castles were made with flags on top of them to show the way for the bride, a bamboo canopy was made by John and myself. Than the real kicker, Marcy and I got aboard a dump truck that took us back to the center to have breakfast with our guests. It was so much fun riding around for 15 minutes on the back of a dump truck. Welcome to MS, I said to myself. Not really a southern thing but it was fun.

Marcy and I spent 2 days in the local Hotel and casino which we were able to see  many people spending their money away at the slot machines, not to mention drinking away. We spent some time doing those things as well but it is sad to know that people hurt themselves this way by not saving up and spending their money on needs and not wants and becoming addicted to gambling.

Marcy and I rented a car and drove to Florida where my sister was having a reception for us. We had a grand time with family and friends. We got my sisters tent and camped out in Key West for one night and than drove to the tip of the Keys the ”Southern most point” of America.  The Lord blessed us with family time and a wonderful and safe trip , which was approximately 2000 miles.

Prayer concerns:

Pray that Marcy would feel Gods peace in this time of being away from her family

Pray that we would be able to minister to our friends here in Waveland as Christmas approaches.

Pray that we would use our time wisely as the Center is closed for Christmas holidays.

Pray that more volunteers to see it fit to do good and continue the work of re-construction in Waveland that is a necessary.

Pray for our 213 families on our construction list who need some kind of help on rebuilding.

Pray that more people come to know the saving grace and freedom in Jesus Christ through our work on their houses.

Pray for the Thrift Store that workers be sent there to minister to families who stop and shop.

Thanksgiving:

Thank the Lord that the local Station WLOX 13 interviewed our organization (Christian Life Center) for our rebuilding efforts. You can get on their website and search for Christian life Center where there is a video that was shown on the local station 13.

Thank the Lord for a wonderful woman in Jesus Christ that I have married and that our wedding plans turned out perfect on Nov 30th, 2008,  on the Gulf Coast beaches at 7AM.

Thank the Lord for safe trip to visit my family and introduce Marcy to them.

Thank the Lord for so many volunteers on staff for long term work in Waveland, 13 all together.

Thank the Lord that we can have another year to minister here in Waveland.
