For those of you who remember the "If We Treated Our Bibles As We Do Our Cell Phones". Here is another piece to get you thinking.

THE 23rd CHANNEL

The TV set is my shepherd
My spiritual growth shall want
It maketh me to sit down and do nothing for it's name sake
because it requireth all my spare time

It keepeth me from doing my duty as a Christian
because it showeth many good shows
that I must see

It restoreth my knowledge of the things of the world
and keepeth me from the study of God's Word
It leadeth me in paths of apathy
and doing nothing in the kingdom

Yeah though I live to be a hundred I shall keep on
veiwing my TV as long as it will work
for it is my closest companion

It's sound and it's picture they comfort me
It presenteth entertainment before me
and keepeth me from doing important things with my family

It filleth my head with ideas
which differ from those set forth in the Word of God

Surely, no good thing will come of my life
because my TV leaveth me so little time
to do the will of God

Thus will I dwell in the house of idleness and sloth forever.

And for those of you who did not read it, or get to read it. Here again is:

What If We Treated Our Bibles As We Do Our Cellphones

What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?
What if we flipped through it several times a day?
What if we used it to receive messages from the text?
What if we treated it like we couldn’t live without it?
What if we gave it to kids as gifts?
What if we used it as we travelled?
What if we used it in case of an emergency?
This is something to make you go…hmmm…where is my Bible?
Oh, and one more thing. Unlike our cell phone, we dont ever have to worry about our bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill!

Love, your friend and brother in JESUS:

4:8   Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philipians Ch. 4 Ver. 8
