As a matter of interest, I’ve been doing some back-testing (after I finally discovered that D1 TF is the one of choice for this EA), and decided that I will remove some of the pairs from its trading bouquet. Not sure if anyone’s taken the trouble, but some pairs do really well, consistently with this strategy, and some don’t. The ones I will be removing are:
USDCHF
USDCAD
EURCHF
EURJPY
EURAUD
CHFJPY
AUDJPY
AUDNZD
CADJPY
On some of these results were still positive, but a bit erratic, so the used margin will be better optimised on the pairs that have proven themselves consistent. I think this is an excellent EA – longer term obviously, but it has really done well on some of the pairs. I will do some more work on the rest of the pairs – with specific emphasis on DD. E.g. on EURUSD DD has been 12%, which in my book is pretty low compared to for e.g. HAS MTF. If we then further limit trading to pairs that have shown low DD also (typically the ones with 2 or 3 losing trades out of 18 or thereabouts, it could be really great, as one could then also increase exposure a little – lot size. As this system does only about 1 trade a month per pair, it would be better to have a combination of uncorrelated pairs – otherwise you could have no trades for a long time, and then 3 trades simultaneously if you have serious event on say the USD or the GBP, but that is probably a wish we cannot fulfil, as there will be strong correlation among the remaining pairs.
