My experience with neural networks is they need to constantly learn.  Is that true with this indicator?

Thomas,

These cvs files are generated by my Neural Net on my astro model. I mentioned previously also that the inputs to this neural net are slightly different then my astro forecasts but so far this is looking quite good.

I am still researching more on this and want to be fully convinced myself .. I am trying to gauge how far out can this neural net be forecasted and can be relied upon.

Hi Ron, here are my statments with:
start capital 1,000
50 percent risk end in: 20905.61
40 percent risk end in: 28340.09
30 percent risk end in: 26134.38
20 percent risk end in: 7399.38
10 percent risk end in: 3295.63

No MM end in:
0.5 lot end in: 7449.10
0.4 lot end in: 6162.54
0.3 lot end in: 4872.38
0.2 lot end in: 3581.35
0.1 lot end in: 3291.33

As you could see low risk, low return, now we know why wall street guys get so much low returns :-D they risk only 3%

I hope abhay explain to us what these excels mean, if they are moon phases or other thing. Abhay if you are reading can
you explain us how to generate these excel? i mean from where they came from?

Maybe if we follow abhay trading we could still put some pending orders and profit more i think not quite sure.

What do you think?

Kindest regards,
Thomas

Thank you!!

I never knew it needed files in BOTH places. Seems like a bug in MT4.

I got the EA to work as a pure stop and reverse on the dots.

My suggestion... DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING!!

6 months GBPJPY M15 0.1 Lots IBFX
going up

This is no TakeProfit, no StopLoss, no trailing stop, and NO martingale, just close and reverse on each successive dot.

Ron,

If you attach to the chart then the indicator picks the csv files from expert/files folder.

But if you are tyring to do backtest then it looks for those files in tester/files folder.

So copy in both directories and then do whatever you are doing. I had the same issue and figured out after long time that files needed to be in the other folder also

I understand the "more research" part.

I think the indicator seems to be working correctly by itself. If I place it on a chart, I get all of the TurningPoint lines and dots on my H1 chart.

The only time I get the error is making an iCustom call to the indicator.

Let me know as your research progresses. The TP-based neural net shows some promise.

Ron,

As for the problem in getting values, I guess it is due to the .csv files missing in tester/files folder

You currently may have those files in experts/files folder only.

Secondly, I am doing some more analysis on this method and some more thorough research. You had asked earlier what was this indicator based on, so the indicator is based on the output of a neural net on my astro model. Though it is not based on exactly same inputs that i use to generate my trend forecast.

I want to do some more thorough research on this before taking it much farther...

Abhay,

I'm trying to make an iCustom call to the Signals indicator as:
(All values are set up as externs in the EA)

      double buf0 = iCustom(Symbol(),0,"Signals",displayTP,daysaroundTP,per,lookbackbars,rangewindow,0,0);
      double buf1 = iCustom(Symbol(),0,"Signals",displayTP,daysaroundTP,per,lookbackbars,rangewindow,1,0);

Do the iCustom calls look ok?

I don't get any values back, and I get this odd error

2008.07.06 16:29:13    2008.06.16 11:00  [ea]Signals_fromAbhay_Ron_MT4_v01a GBPJPYm,H1: Buf1=0.00000000
2008.07.06 16:29:13    2008.06.16 11:00  [ea]Signals_fromAbhay_Ron_MT4_v01a GBPJPYm,H1: Buf0=0.00000000
2008.07.06 16:29:13    2008.06.16 11:00  Signals: invalid handle -1 in FileIsEnding
2008.07.06 16:29:13    2008.06.16 11:00  Signals: invalid handle -1 in FileIsEnding
2008.07.06 16:29:13    2008.06.16 11:00  Signals: invalid handle -1 in FileIsEnding
2008.07.06 16:29:13    2008.06.16 11:00  Signals: invalid handle -1 in FileIsEnding

This sounds like something MT4 is complaining about, and not a problem with your indicator.

Just wondered if you or anyone could shed some light

Thanks

I have created another indicator to measure total profit/loss in PIPs from the signals generated by my system

It is looking extremely good. You can set the signal date and calculate profit/loss in pips from that date onwards...

If you do not filter the loosing trades then this by itself is a trading system.

Copy this indicator and attach to your chart...

Folks,

I am releasing an indicator or better to say signal generator .. Next job is to build a system around this indicator and see if we can filter some loosing trades...

Copy the .csv files in \experts\files

and indicator in \experts\indicator folder....

It's rough statistics are:

Profit Profile (initial $100.00):

807 winning / 371 losing

%Win trades= 68.5%

Largest winning=$55.35 (04.18.2008 04:00) (apprx 55%)

Average winning=$3.83                    (apprx 4%)

Largest losing=$16.80 (03.02.2007 04:00) (apprx 17%)

Average losing=$1.70                      (apprx 2%)

Avg win/avg loss ratio=5.528

Profit factor=13.0788

Max consec. winners=20

Max consec. losers=5
