upcoming forums

Good morning everyone,

 

I wanted to check in as we approach the first of 5 public forums this Thursday in Westborough.  Some notes about the forums and our roles.

 

1. The goal of the forum is to provide the public with a chance to comment on the draft that we’ve issued. 
2. Our job is to listen, and to the extent we are able, to answer questions for clarification.
3. I will present a 10-15 minute overview of the recommendations with a powerpoint presentation. 
4. In the draft, we have highlighted areas where there remains disagreement.  I will also highlight these areas in the overview, explaining that we are particularly interested in the public’s input on these issues.
5. There will be a period of time where people can ask questions for clarification.  I’ve asked Bill to look to all of us to provide these answers to the extent we can; in cases where we don’t have an answer, we should say so and note this in the “work to be done” column.
6. Between all of us, we have good coverage of all the forums, except Taunton.  Charlie and Heather will be there (this is the one that I cannot do).  Can I rally one or two more to go?
7. Bill is providing many facilitators for the table break-out groups, but if attendance is especially high, be prepared to fill this role as well.

 

I’m looking forward to seeing many of you this Thursday.

Lisa, I am prepared to go in North Adams and Pittsburg on Saturday. I gather that you will be doing the power point presentation. I can meet you in North Adams at the Public Library between 9:30 and 9:45, and in Pittsfield before 2 PM. Would you and Bill like to stop by my house in Williamstown for lunch before we go to Pittsfield? It is on the way.
