bluetooth issues with kernel=3.4.49-1-1
---------------------------------------

Key: FL-2911
URL: https://issues.foresightlinux.org/jira/browse/FL-2911
Project: Foresight Linux
Issue Type: Bug
Security Level: Public (Everyone can see this issue)
Environment: FL:2-devel group-*=2.5.4+2013.06.15-0.1-1
Reporter: Berg
Assignee: Distro
Priority: Major

The latest updateall upgraded the kernel to 3.4.49-1-1 but with it I can't discover bluetooth devices. If I run blueman-browse after booting with a lower version of the kernel I see many (including the devices I made apparent and want to pair with), but with 3.4.49-1-1 there are none.

today's kernel=3.4.50-1-1 does not fix the issue.

I don't have any laptop at the moment with bluetooth.

but is it possible to try out kernel 3.9 and see if it's working there?

It's understandable if you don't want to do it, but it won't remove older kernel though.

I will check it out now. Though on this box, on which I installed the 2-devel version, I have a system-model.image file, not a system-model.

That's a issue that doniphon is looking into. We need to fix the system-model file first.

a) the sysmodel.cloud is a rbuilder thing. the absence of a default sysmodel in latest images is a regression in our anaconda. looking at it.
{quote}

To create that system-model file, please run:

sudo /usr/share/conary/genmodel

That will create that file.

If you recently installed foresight on this laptop/computer, then you might used latest iso for it. Wonder if that's the issue for system-model file.

Wrote a little about it to another user too:

rather strange since I don't have poppler-qt installed. Should I install it and run genmodel again?

ok, *other* than wipping a few files you built and cooked locally, running *conary sync* with the systemModel above should get you a sane plain systemModel based setup.

Fixed Trove Versions:
kernel=/reloaded.rpath.org@kernel:latest/3.9.8-1-1

Resolution: Fixed

syncing with the abovementioned system-model didn't break anything, so I went ahead and installed the latest kernel. Now the laptop sees bluetooth devices again during a scan. Note that I checked whether bluetooth worked after the sync w/o upgrading the kernel, but it didn't. Thanks Tomas and Antonio!

Is it possible to reboot with older kernel and see if bluetooth is working or not?
So we are sure it's specific kernel issue.

Berg commented on FL-2911:
--------------------------

One major issue arising with the new kernels is that the wifi switch no longer works. bluetooth and wifi continue working independently of its position. The behaviour is ok with ernel=/foresight.rpath.org@fl:2-devel-kernel/3.4.51-1-1 and kernel=/foresight.rpath.org@fl:2-devel-kernel/3.4.47-1-1 but not with the kernels from reloaded:latest.

The fact that the wifi switch does not work with kernel:latest should probably be a different issue. It does fix the bluetooth issue though, so I close this bug.
