Afternoon everybody. I am fairly new to the group and was wondering
if there was a no to low cost way to break into forensics. Free
ed.com has some ideas and the criminal justice program i am in has
basics but I did not know if there was something or somewhere the
professionals recommend. Crime scene and computer is the main focus.
If any one has any ideas leave a post.

thanks...

Hi, have you had any luck finding out anything about obtaining
forensics training. I'm hoping to start a criminal justice course at
aiken tech in SC, I am presently an investigator for the state, I
investigate residential building complaints and am in the process of
going through sled to obtain my private investigators license, Sharon.

Utica College has online programs, both certificates and degree programs.

Most of the University courses I've heard of are behind state of the art. Meaning the bad guys
always are way ahead.

There are boot camps for forensic training. There was one advertised months ago in this group.

Defcon in Vegas, might be a place to go.

Or security seminar programs for Network Administrators or Enterprise Network Applications. I get trade pubs that list these.

I wonder the quality of most of them.  By quality I mean, when you're done, you actually know how to do
something in Practice, not theory.

Maybe one of the law enforcement associations might know.

I'd be happy to get any feedback privately on programs you are or become aware of.

Thanks,
Arlene
