I am leaving my company soon. Before my last day I want to save copies of some work emails, because I will lose access to my account after I leave.

I have a few questions:

  1. What is the best way to save emails? For example, saving them as PDF, forwarding them, or using an export tool.
  2. If you have done this before, what worked well for you?
  3. Is there anything I should be careful about?

My email is gmail and I use a on windows computer. I mostly want to keep my own emails and a few important ones that I wrote.

Thanks for any help!

Best way to save your work emails is using Google native option, which is Google Takeout option. But it should be allowed and enabled by Admin of your Google Work account. I can recommend export tool from RecoveryTools Email Backup Wizard.

We have used both options in past and both works fine. Google Takeout option only provides saving emails as MBOX file, so you need to use a Free MBOX Viewer to view those emails. Whereas export tool from RecoveryTools provides user friendly options like PDF and PST etc. for reusing exported emails further.

Let me know, if you need more help on this, I will be glad to help you.
