I manage quite a few Google groups, and I am gobsmacked about the utter secrecy surrounding this group's management.  No named administrators and no way to report abuse.

I've received 3 spam messages from this sender just today, as have you, and they have posted before, on Feb 23.

Is someone who is reading this an owner or moderator of this group, and can ban this user?

Hacking is going to get very bad in 2024... and lack of accountability of group owners/moderators is risky.

Thanks for reading.  If this goes into your spam folder... sorry that you won't see my question.

Subject: [forecastfox-users] ‘Magic’ mushroom use by young adults has nearly doubled in three years and for adults
To: forecastfox-users <forecast...@googlegroups.com>

Consumption of “magic” mushrooms and other hallucinogens by young adults nearly doubled over the past three years, a new study has found, illustrating the accelerating pace of America’s “psychedelic revolution” and growing societal acceptance of mind-altering drugs.

Researchers found that 6.6 percent of adults from ages 19 to 30 used hallucinogens other than LSD, a category dominated by psilocybin, in 2021, up from 3.4 percent in 2018. LSD use by young adults rose from 3.7 percent to 4.2 percent in the same period, according to an article published this month in the journal Addiction.

I'm not sure how to contact the owner of a group.

The message can be Reported by clicking on the 3 vertical dots at the top right and selecting "Report message".

Another way to block these messages is to set up a custom filter in gmail and plug in the From address from the sender you want to block into the "From" field.

This is done from Settings >> See all settings >> Filters and Blocked Addresses

Enable the filter and select "Delete".

Any further messages from that sender will go immediately to the Spam folder and will not be seen.

I assume this group was started by olexsander. Would't he be the owner?
