When I installed the extension, I attempted to set the location to Reykjavik, Iceland.  Unfortunately, I keep getting that error message

"An error has occurred while looking up your location on Google Maps. Please try again."

Your extension is definitely useless.  I had to remove it.  Reinstalling an extension doesn't solve the problem unless it fixes.

Forecastfox (fix version)  4.15
Firefox Quantum 59.0.2 64-bit
macOS High Sierra 10.13.4

You suggested me to temporarily disable other add-ons. I took your advice. Unfortunately, I got the same error result.
Then I decided to remove all add-ons then reinstalled only one add-on - Forecastfox.
Sadly, I still received the same error message.

I'm very sorry that I rated your extension a 1 star.  Your extension is still useless.

Bye. Bæ. Прощай.

Well, I'm using Forecastfox for years and it is working without any issue on FF 59.0.2 and Windows 10 Pro.
Sometimes you must go to Options to set it up again due to changes in FF.
I hope it helps.

I am also having this issue in Boise, Idaho.  I've never had this problem until now, although, with each upgrade I've had to go back to options and add the places where I watch the weather again.  Forecastfox is my only add-on.  I've removed it and added it back on.  Problem persists.  I get the error message regardless what place I put in.  It would appear Forecastfox and Accuweather are not on speaking terms!

I've used Forecastfox for years with minimal problems.  It's become pretty much useless to me as I use it to keep track of the weather where family, friends, and those I work with is doing.  As it is now, I could only get it to change to Boise--after several days of attempting to change locations--and can't add any other locations.  I get the error message when I try.  Forecast fox is my only add-on.  I've removed it, added it back, and even done the same with Firefox.  I'm really very sad about this but I'm going to have to try to find another weather ap if this doesn't get fixed.  I need the app to work the way it's supposed to.  It's not helpful to have to use multiple apps for the same purpose.  PLEASE find out what's going on.  I really want to keep using Forecastfox!

I've even tried to add by zeroing in on the location on the map.  No go.  There is some miscommunication or total lack thereof between the app and Accuweather.  This pretty much renders the app useless to me.  I'm currently trying to find another app that will do what this one has done so well for so many years.  I keep hoping I will start up my computer one morning to find it functioning properly again.

I've been using this app since it came out.  I freaked out when it disappeared there for a while because ip until now it's the only app that done EXACTLY what I needed it to.  I've even donated to keep it going.  It will not let me change the location or add other locations no matter what I do.  Though at one point it let me change from NY to Boise, when I removed Firefox and reloaded it in an attempt to get it working again so I could add the locations I need to know about Boise disappeared.  Always with the damned error message.  This has been going a month now.  I've been staring at NY for a couple days now.  I don't live in NY.  Not even close.  This is my only app.  I've loved it for years.  I've looked at other weather apps and none of them is as good as this one, but the app isn't working.  It's become worse than useless to me.  It's sitting there an taunting me.  I am so incredibly bummed about this but I'm done with Forecastfox.

I've been having the same problem. The link you posted appears to be for Google Chrome, I am running FF 60.0.1, Forecastfox 4.16, and Windows 7 Pro. Do you have a version for FF or have you stopped supporting it?

Also, Forecastfox has been spuriously updating itself, even though it doesn't appear to have a newer version.

It turns out my problem was caused by my use of Pi-hole, which is a DNS server plus ad blocker that runs on a separate Raspberry Pi 3 on my local network and which all devices on my local network use as their DNS server. Apparently using the Google Maps service to enter a location makes a call to one of the Google analytics sites, which among other things allows Google to associate your IP address with your location. The Pi-hole blocks this by default and as a result the call to Google Maps fails.

You can disable the Pi-hole for a few minutes from the local Pi-hole web page to change the location in forecastfox.

I am also having problem with this extension. FF61.0.1 (32 bit) on Linux Mint 19 ForecastFox 4.19 just installed today. The problem persists even if I disable all addons in FF except ForecastFox. Please investigate further.

I have just discovered that location does not work when accessing from Mozilla addons extension preferences
 link.

However, location does work when selecting from ForecastFox options dropdown on toolbar.

Hope this helps to solve problems that users are reporting.

I suspect that this is the reason that location does not work when accessing from Mozilla addons extension preferences
