Can't change my location

I have been using forecastfox on previous versions of firefox but the
new one has my location listed as New York, NY. I live in Los
Angeles. I tried manually entering in the location but it won't let
me. I tried to delete my current location but again, it won't let
me. I've got no-script running but I've made all the allowances for
forecastfox and firefox. Only the google ad-services are blocked.
Anything I can do to fix this? I would love to get this app working
again.

Can you change the other settings? What happens when you try to change location... just nothing? Can you check the Error console (in the Tools menu) for JavaScript errors? You may need to first enable the "javascript.options.showInConsole" pref by going to URL "about:config". Please let me know if you see any errors there.

Thanks

Hi,

Hope I'm not being impolite by hijacking this thread but it is the
*same* problem I am having, so thought I would post the contents of
the Error Console:

Warning: Expected ':' but found 'margin-buttom'. Declaration dropped.
Source File: http://www.getforecastfox.com/customize/13/
Line: 0

Does this help?

Regards,

Pete.

Do you also have NoScript enabled?

Same here on Windows XP SP3 & FF 4.0.1.
A lot of towns that used to work don't anymore.
No extensions installed here.
Towns that don't work : Brussels, Belgium & Knokke, Belgium
Town that works : Bruges, Belgium
The town that don't work simply don't trigger any reaction when
pushing the search button or the enter key. No errors in the error
console in that case. All those towns are available on accuweather.com
so something is wrong in the way the new options system looks for
locations.
Typing Brussels, Belgium or Brussels fail. Typing only Bru does open
up the google map giving only brussels airport as option and same
errors as hereunder.
If I type Knokke instead of Knokke, Belgium it opens a google map with
locations but clicking on them always gives Uknown error or location
not found on actuweather.com. In that case though the error console
does give some errors :

I just installed Forecastfox and the default city was New York, NY. I
entered my Zip Code (96753), but the location remains New York. I
have also tried with my city name, but no joy. I have tried resetting
Forecastfox and re-entering my Zip, but no joy. The error returned
is : "An error has occurred while looking up your location on Google
Maps. Please try again." I have experimented with several other zips,
but no change. Perhaps this error only occurs on first time setup?

I am also unable to add new locations in Google Chrome.  In the Javascript console, all I get is " 1344986395.794ERROR: TypeError: undefined is not a function  "

I'm also in the same situation; unable to add new locations BUT from Firefox.

Thank you.

I have recently encountered this problem.

I installed ff on a new computer and used Sync Now to install add-ons, etc.

I was unable to type in a city name and then click search icon to select city.

I disabled most add-ons and was able to change city.

I began enabling add-ons 1 by 1 and found that the extension 'Google Disconnect' created the problem.

I cranked up Firebug and looked at console output when I clicked on search icon (this trips an ajax round trip) and received:

1386817907.277ERROR: ReferenceError: google is not defined

Problem solved. I changed my city and re-enabled Google Disconnect. This problem crept into my config because I had set my city on another machine BEFORE I added Google Disconnect.

+1 for the Google Disconnect issue. Disabled it, added the new location, and re-enabled Google Disconnect.

Everyone who has posted here: try Forecastfox version 2.2.4 currently available at https://static.getforecastfox.com/downloads/forecastfox-latest.xpi and see if that works.  I am just another user here.  But I have been using v2.2.4 for 9 months now without problems in FF normal mode.  I don't use private browsing mode too often, but there may be issues with data not updating properly when in PB mode.

I don't even get a default location now and I dont have Adblock or noscript on my firefox 23

It all used to work fine and then just stopped one day now I get no toolbar addon icon or anything so I updated firefox to 27.0.1 with no luck

what changed, i hadn't changed anything but it dose nothing at all now, it may as well not be there.

Also it wont let me set a location, the set location button is greyed out and dose not do anything
