There are many options.

continental or american airlines or delta are the US carriers,
there are cheaper options such as taca and others.
the cheapest option is to fly to cancun and then take the bus to
belize. I would suggest you be a more experienced traveler to do
this, but it is really easy to do for anyone.

Or will we all be meeting in Belize City at a specific time and taking
the same bus?

I personally find the Cancún option awesome, though I would probably
do it only if there were 2-3 of us going this way.
Also, any idea how long the ride is from Cancún to BC?

coming down from Cancun sounds like a lot of fun. How long does that
trip usually take?

Good friends of mine usually do this.
Fly to Cancun, take a nice bus (with movies, like a grayhound) to the
border with Belize
Then take another bus to Belize city
then take another bus to San Ignacio - Cayo.
And have fun.

I just checked -- 450 to cancun on AA
and 600 to bze on AA

I am not sure that the price difference completely warrants the extra
travel. the busing, border crossing and busing will cost at least 50$
so perhaps you save 100$

Yay! I've got company! In my experience, flying gets pretty messy
especially with the cheaper airlines. If you want the best deals, your
best bet is to buy early and check back a month/2 weeks before you
fly. When you wait till later to buy tickets it'll probably get pretty
expensive and I don't really want to pay $500+ to get to Cancun when I
can pay $500 and get to Asia (I do this every year lol)

Does anyone have any other alternative travel routes other than sfo-
mexico-cancun-belize? is anyone doing the Panama route? i thought
that'd be really fun too! (:

i have absolutely no idea. i just checked tripadvisor.com (which i did
yesterday) and the $316 flight by Mexicana is gone already! the
cheapest flight is now Aeromexico at $337 and i think prices are
already going up ): i'm going to fish around a little more and wait
just a little bit before i get my flight. when i fly back to asia
during summer i usually buy tickets around now so i get decent seats/
prices. don't know if aeromexico lets you pick your seats (: anyone
with experience on flights to central america?

I like this flight, do you think it's a good idea we book now? i just found out that we're in the same anth 2A class together lol, and there's another guy in the class too that wants to come along. I realized that! :( I am not finding anything cheaper...and I am
afraid that the prices will keep increasing...are you going to wait to
book your flight until you find something cheaper? $400 isn't too bad
if its going straight to Belize...I am not taking 2A perhaps you mean
3? If you decide to buy the $400 ticket give me a link and ill buy one

The prices are on their way up already. ): and I don't think I'm going to wait too long. If nothing else works I'll probably go with the guy in my 2A class with the $316 ticket to Cancun and back.. I kinda do want to see some of central America on my there too (: it's 400plus, that's almost 100 bucks more expensive than flying to cancun, plus i think the bus ride would be super interesting, so I'm going to go with the 316 one. hopefully tripadvisor still has it. I am unclear of the rendezvous situation...I understand the program
starts on June 27th, but what's the earliest/latest date we should
arrive in Belize?

I was wondering the same thing about when to arrive. Also, I was
hoping I could find someone who wanted to get a flight that goes
directly to Belize. It would be nice to have at least one other
person on the same flight so I won't have to be lost in a foreign
country alone.

Hey guys,
You should plan on being at the meeting point the day before the bus
leaves for the living area. So I say plan to arrive by the 26th of
June. As for the earliest arrival date, that is up to you to decide.
(consider the following: How long do you want to be in Belize and how
much you can afford?). English is spoken in Belize, so don't worry
about being lost and not being able to communicate. If you have
