There will be an ACM club meeting and lunch this Wednesday in the
Toyon Room. This is subject to no one complaining about a conflict
with their schedule, my ability to reserve the Toyon room at 12 noon,
Ellen's ability to pickup salad from the place in Sunnyvale. We will
have a five minute meeting to discuss the scheduling of a
Bioinformatics Presentation that I am working on.

This meeting will be short and we will have student presentations.
There will also be an open mike session where people can present their
technical topic of 5 minutes.

There will be a door price. I am giving a way an attractive large
size T-shirt, so anyone interested should show up. There will be free
lunch, salad and sodas.

Let me know right away if the schedule is bad.

Dear Randal,

I have class until 12pm on Wednesday hence I can't pick the food up before 12 pm. I will still attend the lunch and bring all the necessary equipment(drinks, cups, plates and cutlery) to the meeting. I don't mind having the lunch this Wednesday.

Also, I want to tell you that I am not able to make to the OBD meeting this quarter because I have class from 12-2 on Tuesday. I hope you can find a person to attend the whole OBD meeting for this quarter.

Thank you. Let me know if I can help you in anyway.

Thanks,
Ellen Wongso

Hi everybody!

Since I don't have anything to do on Tuesdays other than tutor algebra in the evenings, I will be available to represent ACM at the ODB meetings this quarter.  I also have some serious matters to bring up during the next ACM officer meeting.  As I am still the club treasurer, I feel it is important to discuss these matters with the other officers and members as soon as we are all able to meet.  I would prefer to meet this Wednesday at 2pm, so I do not miss my marine biology class (12pm-2pm).

Peace,

It seems like it has been way too long since we have had a meeting. I will come to campus for the meeting Wed, 2:00 is better for me then 12:00 also. I highly recommend that we meet without food if necessary, in a classroom if the Toyon room is not available. Randal, please announce the final time/place.

Dear Randall,

I will be at the ODB meeting representing the ACM club as an officer as I have not yet resigned my treasurer position.  Some serious matters must be discussed as a club and not as an informal one-to-one between you and I.  When I decided to take on the responsibility of treasurer I was not planning on a half-baked performance.  Time and time again, you have told me that there is nothing for the treasurer to do, but, as you know, I disagree with you about that.  Furthermore, I find it of poor taste and beneath you to undermine my dedication to the club.  For the sake of the club, I strongly suggest you disengage from any further divisive behavior, or at least wait until after our next officers meeting is adjourned.

Sincerely,
P. Shulman

I will show up if the meeting is at 2pm because 12pm I have something on.

Elmer

Hi Randal,

For whatever the reason is the club officer's positions are always a problem and that was the reason why I felt that I couldn't do anything much since no one bother to response to email in the previous quarter.

You're a person full of informations and knowledges about computer and that's one thing I have to admit but to be able to understand members in the club isn't easy. That was the reason why I felt pressure that everything was so messed up unless someone think that he/she could do a better job rather than just reading email that was sent in the club's mailing list.

I tried for about a year but nothing seem to change and I started to learn from others that by reading email that was sent out to the club's mailing list is a lot easier. If the club's members/officers decided that they want members/officers meeting, I would prefer that you should go for that because you just need to understand everyone rather than execute ideas on your own. Officers are there to help and build up this club and to work alone in the club doesn't show much except gaining all the credits to yourself (even though I know that's not your thought).

I try to go if there's members/officers meeting. Please update everyone again. Thanks.

Regard,
Elmer

Hello Elmer:

I was going to reschedule the meeting until after May 1, 2010.  However, if you have the time to send an email to Scott Olsen (adviser) to be there, and are willing to take the time to order 2 Foothill Long Turkey Sandwiches from Subway Los Altos on El Camino (sliced in wedges, with lettuce and veggies), then go for it.  No one has time because of preparation for the Honors Symposium.

Dear Elmer:

Your suggestion is great.  Why don't you go ahead and get Scott Olsen to sign an event petition, schedule the room with Tricia, and order the food from Subway in Los Altos.  Since you have so much time to send emails, I am sure you wouldn't mind spending some time on this as well.

Also, just a reminder that this group is an events list only.  A number of people have indicated they don't wish to receive correspondence that is not event related.  If you have a gripe, please join ACM by becoming a paid member and filling out an online application, and then join the officers list, an entirely separate and private newsgroup specifically for gripes.

You are certainly welcome to suggest to the others that you replace me as co-chair, which has been my goal from day one with this group.

Randal,
A well-run club should have no gripes whatsoever. Will we be meeting tomorrow at 2:00 pm or not? If you need a room, I am sure that Room 4202 is available. That is the one we used before.

Elmer Tan is not a member of ACM International.  Although this club is certainly open to everyone, including non-paid members, Elmer has no interest in this.  As you are aware, Foothill ACM offered Elmer a paid subscription to ACM International and Elmer indicated he wasn't interested.  I will be asking our webmaster to remove all comments relating to Elmer post, including this post, as well as Elmers post.

There will not be a meeting tomorrow.  Our club chair is not able to pickup the food and I don't have time to do it before May 1, 2010.  It was decided a long time ago that Rm 4202 is not a suitable place to have a presentation for guest speakers.  As a general rule, we don't schedule meetings unless there are speakers (including student presenters), and food because we don't want to waste students precious academic time. Foothill policies prohibit food in the classrooms.

Paperwork was submitted earlier today to have a meeting and event on May 4, 2010.  This has already been signed off by Scott Olsen, our backup adviser, and Ellen will be delivering an announcement later on about this.
