How does one reply to posts?

Hello,

Is there a mechanism for replying to a post that is already out there,
or must one begin a new post every time?

I couldn't figure out how to reply!

I would like to note that my own posts show the "reply" option, but
none of the ones that Deborah posted give me that option. Not sure
why. Also, I can't figure out how to edit my own posts...I'm new to
this stuff, can you tell :)
