Many new forms of technology are very useful in helping us learn new materials. One that is very useful is the website Quizlet. Quizlet is a website where you input vocabulary and/or content and then can play games or take quizzes to gain more knowledge of the new content. For example, I can play a matching game where there are flashcards on my screen, and I am given the vocab word on one care and the definition on the other. I then hit start and I try to match the correct cards together. Not only am I learning new vocabulary this can be a competition too between their classmates to see who can finish it the fastest. If a student creates an account, they can save all their tries and as a teacher I can then see how many times they have attempted games. This website is a great way for a student to prepare for a test because they can put all the unit's information into flashcards and study at their own pace.

In the future when I am a business teacher, I will be able to incorporate this into my teaching by having students use it to further understand the vocabulary. I could even create flashcards where one side has a formatting tool and the other side has the steps to do it. This could help all my students keep up if they miss a day of class or do not understand it super well at the time it is being taught. They can access our class Quizlet and look up whatever it is they are trying to achieve and find the steps on Quizlet. I could also have my students do a project over a unit and this could be one way they could do it by creating flashcards of the information or topics being covered. Quizlet could be used in any class because it is a great way to learn new vocab even in math learning new formulas for finding areas, perimeter and much more.

To set up a Quizlet account and begin making your own sets of flashcards is very easy. You just go to quizlet.com and sign up for an account using your email. Next, you click create at the top of the page and it takes you to a page to enter info like the below. You then just need to choose your set begin putting vocab words and definitions in or whatever you want on your flashcards. Finally, you just hit create and it is saved to your account to be used. Now, when you want your kids to find your deck. They can go to Quizlet and search your account up to find all decks or just search the name of the specific deck. Students do not need an account, but if they create one their attempts will be saved to show them on the leaderboards.
