Sorry to hijack this thread, but could you me help to do the opposite please? i.e. un-link/disconnect my bohemia account from my steam account ? I inadvertently created a 2nd bohemia account and then made an arma 3 unit with it, but cannot connect it to my steam account. Not sure how to do this. Many thanks
Because we want too. lol Anyways, ya same issue here too. Had created a BIS account with a different email and made a new one with my new email. Tried linking my new account by hovering over the steam icon at the bottom of the login page it does show 'connect' but after I do it says my steam account is already linked to another account. This account. So I logged into this account and hover over the steam icon THINKING there would be a 'disconnect' appearing. Nothing. There is a hyperlink box just below the steam icon but that just takes me to my steam account. I use Microsoft Edge. Not sure if maybe that could be an issue.
This is asinine and somewhat infuriating. But perhaps the only thing thicker than the barrier to link my accounts is my skull, with which I will keep headbutting this issue until it caves in under my sheer willpower alone.
Then comes 2014 when I was in uni, I kinda forgotten my old steam account since I was busy with my studies back then so I decided to make a new Steam account where I played CSGO heavily. As the years came by I started playing other games as well. I have been playing GTAO since it came out and to this day I still play it alot, last night was in fact the last time.
Just last year around February however, I bought the Nintendo Switch a month early before Monster Hunter Rise came out, while waiting for that game to release I decided to try Warframe. I loved it a lot. I never thought I'd get hooked to a game that has been out for years but I never really bothered playing it before. Then last Tennocon they announced Crossplay and Cross-save. I thought I'd just play it on the account I made last 2014. But last year as well, my old friend told me we'd play DayZ again since there was a big update which added new features. So I was able to log into my old account and played DayZ again, alternating between DayZ/Dota2(2010) and GTAO/RDO(2014).
Here's where my dilemma comes in. I want to use my old account made in 2010 for my Warframe account. However, since I also play GTAO/RDO on the 2014 account that is what is usually logged into my PC. Now for the question, can I log into my Warframe alternating between my 2010 and 2014 accounts depending on which one is logged on with no problems since there is a separate login for Warframe when launched through Steam? Or am I going to get banned for logging into Warframe with different Steam accounts?
2. Despite many games being in my 2014 acc. My OG 2010 account is where I do trading and other stuff since my TF2 and Dota 2 is there. And I only usually play GTAO/RDO solo so they're the chill games I play. But when with my friends/clan we play DayZ actively too, which is in the 2010. I have most of my friends in the 2010 one too. The ones on the 2014 account are those that only play GTAO/RDO, which are also in the 2010 one.
Warframe and Steam don't interface much at all, and they really only talk to each other to use Steam Wallet funds. Logging into Warframe is done within Warframe itself, and to my knowledge does not rely on any Steam Cloud services at all. There should be no issues whatsoever with logging into 2010, adding Warframe to that library, and just logging into Warframe from inside Warframe
Warframe accounts are not directly anchored to any Steam Accounts. The connections that exist are for Steam Wallet purchases for plat and TennoGen. You can disconnect your Warframe/Steam Link from one Steam account and reconnect it to a different account. (Yes, any previous perchases will stay inside your Warframe profile and will not be taken away from you. (With the exception of Phased Skins and Rubido Skins that are directly anchored to Steam Trading Cards)).
Alternatively if you do not plan on buying any TennoGen, you could just use the Standalone version or Epic Games Launcher version of Warframe. Either way there is no risk of being banned from Warframe, unless you are trying to run two games simultaneously(don't do that).
I feel relieved that I can login whenever. I also didn't know that there was a steam unlink option as I play on switch now and will transition later on to PC when cross-play is available ?. Thank you very much! Thank you for explaining it well too!
As far as i know, it should be okay. I have a steam account, but i didnt like using it through steam so i got a regular login info from CCP and now i just use the launcher. Stuff i purchase through steam still gets added to that account though.
You can convert your steam based EVE account into a standalone EVE account if I recall correctly at the account management site. You will have to provide an email address, a username and a password though it was almost two years ago when I did this so may not be 100% accurate.
You can pin any account on your launcher regardless if it is the standalone launcher or the Steam version of the EVE launcher, you click add new account, type the username and password and pin it, set remember account details if you want the launcher to remember them all / any you wish (in case of the Steam based one the EVE account tied to your Steam account will always authenticate when you start the launcher while the other accounts only if you set the launcher to remember them).

No, Guild Wars 1 accounts cannot be linked to a Guild Wars 2 account that was created via Steam. If your Guild Wars 2 account was created via Steam, you will not have the option to link a Guild Wars 1 account within the Account Management page of your ArenaNet account.
Not really a big deal, as freebie minis aren't prestigious, but it does add one more thing to the very small list of totally unobtainable wardrobe unlocks for these accounts. This could be a minor disappointment for new players on Steam that turn into collectors, only to find out that they can't collect this item, like the Celebration Hat. In theory, elitist squads could even filter out Steam users by asking them to show their mini, but that probably won't happen.
