Rice Krispy Treats...a snow cone from a Snoopy Sno Cone maker...Fudgie the Whale...

A few of us were discussing foods from our childhood and realized that would make for a fun Foodspotting gathering!

Let's take advantage of this gorgeous weather and meet up at noon on Sunday, June 12th at Franklin Square (http://www.visitphilly.com/museums-attractions/philadelphia/franklin-square/).  We can grab a few picnic benches or bring blankets, spot some of the delicious treats at Square Burger (TastyKake milk shake, anyone?) and bring some of our favorite foods from our childhoods to share.

RSVP if you're planning to attend so we have a head count and if you're bringing treats to share.  Although, it wouldn't be a bad thing to have 10 Fudgie the Whale cakes...

Hello all-
I'm new to the group and am happy to say I will be attending! I will be doing some sort of cupcake involving a childhood cereal (think fruit loops, count chocula, cookie crisp, etc). Unless I think of something better :)

I'm going to go out on a sturdy limb and say that both Gwen and myself will be there. Who's bringing confections from an EZ-Bake oven? No? Okay we'll be able to bring along some yet to be determined treats then.

I’ll be in Canada for work, but sounds fun! Shake Shack shows up on three of our Visit Philly Foodspotting guides, by the way…

(Burger Bonanza, Milkshake Madness and TastyKake-Inspired Dishes).

Have fun!

Oh, danger.

I just checked the forecast and it's supposed to not just rain, but thunderstorm on Sunday.

I personally would rather not get struck by lightening, so I'm going to suggest a backup location of Reading Terminal Market.  We can meet by Flying Monkey Patisserie in the back, get some food to spot and also bring our own treats.

If the weatherman is wrong, and Sunday arrives and is gorgeous, we'll meet at Franklin Square as planned.  If not and the clouds are looming, I'll send out an e-mail by 10am letting everyone know to meet at RTM.

Any questions, let me know!

Sounds good! I'm all for the park if it's at all nice out, clearly, but RTM isn't a bad backup plan either :-)

I second that option for RTM if the weather sucks for tomorrow.

Hope to see everyone tomorrow!

Good news!

I just checked the forecast again and the hourly report (http://www.weather.com/weather/hourbyhour/graph/19106) says we should be good until 4pm.  Plenty of time to eat some burgers and hang out!

See you all today at 12, at Franklin Square.  Let's meet by the fountain in the center, by Square Burger.

Yeah! Glad to hear the weather is cooperating :) I'm bringing Dirt
and a friend who just moved to Philly - I'm introducing her to the
awesome Foodspotting group

See everyone soon,

Jen
