Food inspectors get field training
Doha: The Food Inspectors Rehabilitation Team of the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning joined inspectors on a tour that covered many restaurants and hotels.
They focused on health requirements to be met by the outlets with regard to food preparation and handling of venues.
Officers were told about health requirements, ways to ensure compliance, the inspection method and measures to be adopted by inspectors as soon as they enter a restaurant, hotel or food outlet until the end of inspection.
Workers were familiarised with hygiene requirements mandated by the municipalities.
The tour was part of the Institutional Qualification Programme organised by the ministry to help improve inspection.
The inspectors were accompanied by Dr Ahmed Abu Mustafa, Legal Adviser at the municipality, and Dr Helmi Al Fakhrani.
