Dear Shabir,

I believe there is a difference between «No Preservative» and «Preservative Free»

-          No Preservative: meaning the manufacturer is not adding any kind of Preservative and/or Artificial Preservative, however the products might have some kind of these Chemicals Naturally

-          Preservative Free: meaning the manufacturer is not adding and the products has no preservative; there is 0% preservative in this product.

Other team members and experts may correct if I`m wrong and give further clarification

Regards,

Hamza Menikh

All these mean different things and often such statements are misguiding.

Read the label and ask the list of ingredients. You might have to do some research before you conclude.

No preservatives – I guess the company wants to say  that  no ‘additives’ were added to preserve the food. However, some foods have high sugar and there is no need to ‘add’ preservatives. The label is meant to imply that the food is healthy and it need not necessarily be.

No artificial colours – means the coloring agent is either absent or made from ingredients considered as ‘natural.’. The question then would be, ‘what is natural’?

Some people perceive that ‘natural’ is same as ‘safe.’ Plant derivatives can be potent toxins and can be as bad as any ‘chemicals.’ In the end, all these products can be broken down in Carbon, Nitrogen, Hydrogen etc that are of course natural!

All additives go through a Risk Assessment process and as long as you are sticking to the Daily Allowance ( if you are a normal person) , it should not be harmful to you.

And no artificial flavours' really mean? – Dig for information when you see this. It could mean that what you get is the smell of the food itself or that the component that is giving the smell has been derived from a natural source. The argument for the later goes to the one like the colours.
