WHY DO AN INTERNSHIP ?
Imagine, you're a recent ICT graduate with a killer cover letter, a stellar grade point average and glowing recommendations. But if one important item is missing from your résumé, good luck trying to get an entry at the Top Business Schools or some of the Best Job Opportunities. You need an internship…..
Besides looking good on a résumé, an Internship Program can help in several ways :
· Develop skills. Learning new skills in an internship can help in entry to top business degree colleges and employment opportunities and make you a competitive candidate in future application processes.
· Get a foot in the door. Internship experiences provide a valuable opportunity to share skills with a prospective employer long before the hiring process for a full-time job.
· Gain valuable networking contacts. You make many contacts through an internship experience. Networking is often one of the best ways to land a new job and a primary way to learn about unadvertised job opportunities.
· Obtain references. Your internship supervisor has seen your skills in action and is an ideal reference for future jobs.
· Gain valuable work experience. Internships help students get real-world experience while still in college. Interns generate work samples for their professional portfolio and provide real accomplishment stories to share in an interview setting.
· Establishing relationships with potential mentors.
Best Regards
