Hi, all --

As many of you know, the Dill Pickle Co-op is one of the few grocery co-ops in the Chicago area.  Since they opened their doors in Dec. 2009, they have been very successful and attracted committed, talented board members and staff -- not to mention customers.

They have an opening for a full-time Produce Buyer.   See details from the new General Manager, Sharon Hoyer, below.  The Dill Pickle Co-op is located in one of Chicago's most active, multi-faceted neighborhoods, Logan Square.   Logan Square has a long-time farmers market, some great neighborhood groups, local food restaurants.

FYI to WFAN (Women, Food, and Agriculture Network):   There are some terrific women involved with the Dill Pickle, including Kathleen Duffy (the visionary founder) and Suzanne Keers, who is on the board as well as being Executive Director of Local First Chicago (the "local economies" organization, part of the BALLE network).    From the very beginning, the Dill Pickle was and remains a great community effort -- women and men, diverse ethnicities, connecting every local issue with universal principles and larger networks.

The co-op movement in Illinois is growing (after being behind for so many years) and women are in leadership positions in almost every grocery co-op that I know about in Illinois.

The Dill Pickle position sounds like a great opportunity for the right person.
