Foodle has been an experimental service at UNINETT, used to
experiement with a lot of various technology, including IdP Discovery,
Cross-federated login, usability, attribute mapping, CALdav, guest
users, social login, OAUth, groups and roles, APIs and more.

We have decided to remove most of the experimental functionality of
Foodle, update the user interface, and more Foodle a more streamlined
service. We have also added a few features that was much requested.

Right now I'm preparing a new production service of Foodle, to replace
the existing one. I'd like to invite you to start testing the new
version of Foodle, to help me sort out the most annoying bugs - and
fixing them before final release.

To test foodle, edit your /etc/hosts file, add an entry like this:

158.38.213.206 foodl.org

And remove DNS cache (or reboot). On Mac OS X, you typically run
'dscacheutil -flushcache' and restart your browser.

I am aware of some bugs already, but would like help to find more. I
will fix the most severe bugs before we point Foodle DNS to the new
instance.

Please report bugs here:

https://github.com/UNINETT/Foodle/issues

Thanks for your feedback,

kind regards,
Andreas

To make sure that you are connected to the new version of Foodle, the UI should look like the one in screenshot.

Sometimes the browser may not immediately use the new ‘hosts’/DNS setting. So now you know what to look for.
