Hello partners,

YES! is a proud supporter of the NC Farm to Coalition of NC and we are so excited that this year's conference encourages youth participation!

High School aged youth are encouraged to attend and please note that travel scholarships are available to make this more manageable for youth & adult teams.

Please let us know if you have any questions!

Thanks,

Hi Friends!

Please join us for the first annual Farm to School of NC Conference, to be held at NC State's McKimmon Center this summer, Saturday, July 25th. With NCCES as partners in the newly seeded Farm to School Coalition of NC, we openly welcome and encourage friends in Cooperative Extension to attend!  We are a part of a collaborative USDA-FNS Farm to School planning grant led by the NC Public Health Foundation, NC Center for Health and Wellness, NC DPI - Child Nutrition, NCDA Farm to School Program, ASAP and many others.

With four different tracks, there is something for everyone - from school garden engagement, nutrition education, local procurement and community networking and advocacy. We have two amazing keynotes with Jen MacDougall with the BlueCross BlueShield North Carolina Foundation and Anupama Joshi, Director of the National Farm to School network.

Register Now!
You can register now, by visiting the conference website here. The cost is only $35, includes lunch, keynotes, workshops, vendors and many opportunities for networking with your F2S friends! Register early to get one of 150 spaces and by July 17th at the latest.

Travel Scholarships
The Farm to School Coalition of NC has limited travel scholarships available. These scholarships will be available on a first come, first serve basis and will reimburse participants up to $250 for costs associated with traveling to attend the conference.  The scholarship cannot be used to pay the registration fee. Scholarships are limited to participants traveling a minimum of 100 miles to attend. Please email Laurie Stradley at lstr...@unca.edu to apply for a scholarship before you register for the conference.  Include your contact information and starting address in the email.

Please share with anyone who may be interested in attending.  We welcome beginners and experts, farmers and distributors, teachers and administrators, youth and parents, and the list goes on!  There are so many stakeholders in this work, and we hope to see you all there!

Wonderful. I'll keep that in mind if I hear of other folks going and potentially there could be some carpooling.
