Hello Food Action Team! 👋 We hope your new year is off to a healthy start!
As we get ready to kick-off Food Action Team programs we wanted to provide you with a snapshot of what is going on this month.
January 22 | 1 - 2:30 PM | Corvallis-Benton County Public Library | Main Meeting Room | 645 NW Monroe Ave
Legumes are a huge group of plants, widely grown in ornamental and edible gardens. Learn about growing edible beans and peas, legume family flowers and herbs, and cover crops to improve your soil health and fertility. Presenter Darren Morgan from Shonnard's Nursery has tips to help you grow better, and will share great photos and stories from his decades of experience.
January 22 | 5 - 6:30 PM | C3 (Corvallis Community Center), 2601 NW Tyler Ave.
This month's Cooks and Books event Farmer-to-Table with Luke Carlson, Chef and Owner of Corazón Wine Bar & Kitchen has become an even more special event for all involved. Chef Luke recently announced that Corazón will be closing its doors this month, with a heartfelt request to continue to carry on the Corazón sobremesa spirit with you.... Linger a little longer. Share a bottle. Ask where your food comes from. Caring about good food and wine, from good places, grown and made by good people.
Come join Chef Luke and his team in one of their final presentations, come share your experiences in the space he created, and support this team moving towards the next chapter on their journey.
This event series is co-sponsored by C3, Corvallis-Benton County Public Library, and Corvallis Sustainability Coalition.
