A friend sent me the information below about a farm tour near Seattle.  This type of tour might be a fun project to take on one summer instead of, or in addition to, the edible garden tour?

Subject: Sustainable Farm Tour

Hello Anna, I saw an article in a magazine from this website and I thought it may be of interest for the sustainability coalition. I was pretty sure you were part of that group. It’s up in the Seattle area, but it seems like a really neat opportunity.

That’s a neat idea! The OSU Extension and Small Farms program might be a good place to start inquiring about possibilities …

If the group put together a field there I will join right away!

We have wonderful local farms that welcome groups for a tour.
I joined a guide tour with a group at Gathering Together Farm and we had lunch afterwards.
The contact for that is Rosario, she is the educational coordinator.

Just recently I visited Everfree Farm in Blodgett, a small family farm, they are wonderful people.
In Monroe ,there's Lilliputopia Farm, a family organic farm, they love visitors. The contact is Eliza Mason to give a heads up for a group visit.
Also in Monroe, there's Sharing Gardens, a couple retired and got a property in Monroe, they are growing food for the food bank and
they share seeds and plant starts with community members and school gardens.

Sunbow Organic Farm, is also open for field trip, they are super busy now, but contact Yadira and Nate.

Let's not forget our community has wonderful U-Pick opportunities right now.

And as Diane said, OSU also has farming projects and educational opportunities to visit them.

I would love to join the group.

I visit and make videos of local farms, and farm stands around the community (and beyond).
If you are on Facebook or Instagram find me as Juliana Meyner, to check it out.

Hugs, Juliana
