Hi all foodies and vegetable garden growers,

Come learn how to wisely plant companion flowers and herbs to attract pollinators and beneficial insects to your garden that can help increase your harvest, reduce pests, add flavor, and provide beautiful blooms too! This Public Seed Library presentation is being given by Darren Morgan, Shonnard's Nursery Manager. Come to this free event at the Corvallis Public Library's Main Meeting Room, and take home free seeds generously donated by Shonnard's Nursery!

Unfamiliarity and fear can be the motivation to kill an insect we spot in our gardens, but wait! Many scary looking insects are beneficial because they eat the pests that harm our crops. Parasitoid wasps wont sting you but their larvae will eat your garden pests. Green lacewings are beautiful and their larvae are voracious aphid eaters. Watching an assassin bug and soldier beetles is fascinating! Included in the many benefits of tending your garden ecosystem with companion plants are many opportunities to simply experience awe observing insects.
