The NIC needs to be a Intel Pro/1000 chipset for it to work with the National Instruments GigE Vision Adapter. If it's not, then you can still use it except that you will be using the universal driver from NI-IMAQdx instead of the high performance driver.

While the high performance driver provides better CPU performance compared to the universal driver, it will only work on Gigabit Ethernet cards with the Intel Pro 1000 chipset. The universal driver can work on any Gigabit Ethernet card recognized by the operating system. CPU usage during acquisition will affect the CPU cycles available for image analysis. So, if your application requires in-line processing, it is better to invest in a Gigabit Ethernet card with the Intel Pro 1000 chipset. While your choice of driver affects the CPU usage, it does not limit the maximum bandwidth possible. Either driver will be able to achieve the maximum bandwidth of 125 MB/s.

In Device Manager My Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (2) I218-V Adapter has a caution flag. I have attempted to update the drivers (Kinda hard without internet huh...) however device manager seems to thing that the drivers are the most recent.

Unfortunately this did not work, I have updated my BIOS and my drivers, I believe it might be a hardware issue. My current adapter is integrated into my motherboard. Would i be able to bypass this issue with a Ethernet-to-USB Adapter or an additional/new adapter socketed into my motherboard?

The adapter shows on lspci but as you'll see below the driver fails with error -5.
Since the laptop itself doesn't support wired connection I'm using tethering through a phone. I did update all packages and kernels.

I'm wondering which driver I should be using: The most recent HP Broadcom 1Gb Driver for Windows Server x64 Editions driver that names this specific adapter in the list of supported adapters is 16.8.0.4(30 Mar 2015). Here is a link: =MTX_be20632f280a4f5d8951c4544d. The next newer version is 17.0.0.3(15 Jun 2015) and it does not name this specific adapter in the list of supported adapters.

Ever since I got my 12th gen Framework the Realtek USB GbE Family Controller has giving me a Code 10 error and not working with ethernet connection.
I am using a Wavlink usb-c docking station (link to it below) and downloaded the driver pack with it. This docking station has worked fine with my previous laptop.
I have already tried connecting it using different ports on my Framework and tried manual update from list of drivers with no luck.
Any help would be appreciated.

For most of these operating systems two types of driver are available: Virtual COM Port (VCP) drivers and direct (D2XX) drivers. The VCP driver emulates a standard PC serial port such that the USB device may be communicated with as a standard RS232 device. The D2XX driver allows direct access to a USB device via a DLL interface.

To locate the drivers you want to install for a device, select which of the driver types you wish to use (VCP or D2XX) and then locate the appropriate operating systems. With the exception of Windows 98 and Windows ME, all devices are supported in each driver package.
