The problem is caused by Windows Media Player and not by Windows.I've just changed the settings on Windows Media Player. I prevent it from being my default player, from adding any file to this player's library or doing any other automatic action. (go through all the possibillies and check) and I got read of this annoying phenomena. Now each song or album has the picture I want it to have.

When encountering this error, it means that Windows Media Player does not music player info for their tracks. So, do you know how to solve the error of Windows Media Player not finding album info? If not, keep on your reading and we will show you the solutions.

I am in the process of ripping my cd collection to a 3tb Fathom external hard drive. I have been ripping with windows media player using wave lossless set to best quality. I will be playing the files on a Marantz UD7007 blueray/multi disc player with usb input so no PC involved at this point but that could change someday.

I used to use EAC when I was on XP but now on windows 7/10 I started using WMP and itunes. I have another hard drive from a second desktop system that has EAC rips but what I did not like was no track names or album art so maybe I was doing something wrong. Is that the main advantage of EAC error correction?

Let me start by explaining I'm the frugal tech. I plan on retiring within two years and my wife has stage 4 cancer, the latter which puts the the former in jeopardy. For that reason, I try to carry on as best I can with little or no cost product. I have an iPhone, but it's an SE, I have an Apple Watch, again the SE. I have an iPad, but it's of the 64GB Wi-Fi $329 variety. I don't subscribe to a third party AV for my personal laptop, I use Defender. I practice safe computing, so it works for me. This is about listening to Mp3's, some of it ripped from my albums and CDs, and much of it songs and audio originally downloaded from Guttenberg and the US Archives site and obtainable free of charge.

When WD all but made my 5 year old WD MyBookLive NAS useless because of a security flaw, I didn't want to buy a new device. I was able to get VLC to still see it, which I can use on my IOS devices at home, but it didn't do me any good if I'm away from home. With a small SSD drive on my laptop, I copied my music from my WD NAS to an SD card which I could take on the road. I went through the gambit for testing free media players. VLC for Windows was my best option for a while, but basic as it comes to artist art, album art and sorting options. Original Windows Media player was fine, but can't display art for files on an SD card. I settled on Groove. It looked fantastic. It did have a big flaw though. Everything I copied from the WD NAS is correctly displayed but anything new I added eventual displays as "unknown everything". I can edit information, and that works temporarily, but eventually then revert to the "unknown". So big deal because I rarely have anything new and if I did, I'd just stick it on the SSD drive and it displayed correctly. So I've been anxiously waiting for Media Player for Windows 11 which was finally pushed out to me this week.

The installation replaced Groove and when the new Media Player for Windows 11 popped up, it looked great. What's this? Artist art for A Silver Mt Zion? I didn't have that before! Awesome! Then POP. Everything disappeared with a big "We couldn't find any music" in the middle of the screen. I figured it might be just indexing so let it sit overnight. No good. The "Folder in Library" settings looked OK, but I redid them anyway. No change. I dropped a few songs on the hard drive and added the folder to the library. Still no change. Groove is gone and Media Player for Windows 11 is worthless to me. Original media player still sees it all, so I'm not completely dead in the water, but I like seeing the artist and album art

Anyone used the new Media Player for Windows 11 yet? Have you seen anything similar? Any suggestions?
