To maximize the color reproduction capability and the color gamut provided by your printer and inks, we developed a new True Rich Color preset. Now vibrant color can be combined with neutral grays, smooth gradations and natural skin tones to create stunning graphics. This pioneering color expression is unequalled for durable graphics.

VersaWorks 6 includes 64-bit native support to maximize performance of the latest 64-bit OS. It improves processing capability for complicated data, including PDF files with complex vectors and multiple layers, with power and accuracy.

Previously, issues could occur when reproducing files with special effects such as drop-shadows and transparencies. VersaWorks 6 supports for processing PDF files natively, rendering special effects the way they are intended to look in the design. You can now handle files with special effects without hassle, leading to improved efficiency from receiving the data to outputting consistent, high-quality results.

VersaWorks 6 is even more intuitive thanks to a redesigned user interface consistent with the latest design trends. Its simpler, flat design offers expanded visibility for a better user experience. Intuitive icons and a monotone look improve ease-of-use.

The latest VersaWorks 6 is equipped with a "Job Assistant" function that can automatically add contour lines for cutting PDF design data within the RIP software. Even if the cut contour line is missing in a submitted file, printing and cutting can now be performed quickly without returning to the design editing software, allowing jobs with short delivery times to be reliably met.

VersaWorks 6 offers an easy-to-use color matching function to ensure consistent color between multiple same-model printers when using the same ink type*. Now, you can choose to produce volume work from one client with multiple printers, or print a large, combined graphic with two printers, all with consistent color. VersaWorks 6 can compensate for color differences caused by aging or replacement print heads, too.

VersaWorks 6 allows you to have five separate queues with distinct settings applied to jobs automatically. Each queue offers unlimited saved settings, allowing you to store necessary print setting information according to specific customer requirements and media for recurring jobs. In addition, each queue can have a hot folder to improve production such as when there are multiple designers working in one location.

Traditionally, when you wanted to specify a special color layer like white, metallic, gloss/clear and primer, you needed to perform this task in your design software. With VersaWorks 6, you can set-up a special color layer directly in the RIP along with fine adjustments to the position and size of a special color layer all performed in VersaWorks 6.

As well as featuring a built-in PANTONE library with detailed spot color matching and choices, VersaWorks 6 supports comprehensive color libraries and offers features that enable automated color-matching of logos and other corporate identity elements.

In order to respond to the diverse color matching needs of printing businesses, such as accurately reproducing an intended color, precisely printing a corporate color specified by the client, or managing the printer so that the same color is always output, a spectrophotometer is essential.
The latest VersaWorks 6 supports drivers for spectrophotometers from major manufacturers widely used in the wide format printing field, such as X-rite's i1 series and Barbieri's Spectro LFP series.

I only ever use two setting on my VP540 and it is image dependent. look in the quality tab.
If it is Vector artwork like safety signs and such i use (RIPC)Generic Vinyl 2 with a preset setting "Sign and display"
If the image is photographic I use (RIPC)Generic vinyl 2 with a preset setting of pre-press Europe. All at the standard setting, in terms of print quality setting. You will find that using this profile combination you will get a reasonable speed and a very good quality on most vinyls. The only other setting which will help if the image is giving reticulation (hammer right effect) is to turn the temperature up to either 40 Print and 45 Dryer or if the ambient temp is low 45 and 50.

I have used all of the common vinyl type with any issues. The only ones you have to watch is the cast media, as these have to be printed at a lower speed due o the surface tension of these media types and i tend to use the bespoke profiles that normally come pre-set. nd of course with a lower temp, as the media is thinner.

Queue A & B (and C, D, E in RVW6) allow presets to be assigned to newly loaded files. This process can save time and establish consistant output. Each Queue can be setup for a particular type of workflow or media type. Most of these settings can be changed after a file is loaded as well.

SETTINGS THAT MATTER:
Many settings are obvious (copies, scale, profiles, tiling, Print vs Print/Cut), but a few are either overlooked or misunderstood. This is not an exhaustive list of settings, but those that need to be commonly set on all(most) queues. Use these suggestions initially until they are fully understood before altering. These will be addressed by TAB from top to bottom.
