Kids amaze me in their rapid growth. I just had a birthday last Friday and I really hope that I'm far from a rapid decline. ;)
Anyway, today, Brigitta climbed onto the dining chair, reached out for an apple and looked at me saying, "pinggou" which is apple in Mandarin. Then in case, I didn't understand, she said, "apple" while doing the ASL sign for it. My 2 year old daughter is teaching me another language. Hah! I said, "pinggou" and smiled at her. She's also singing the numbers in Mandarin nowdays too. I'm hoping that I can keep her education in Mandarin up...the private Mandarin immersion schools here are way above my budget, WAY above. We're talking around USD 30,000 a year. Isn't that crazy? I'm looking at homeschooling her too so just have tons of research to do.
She also went for her MMR shot today at the same time with Kurt's 1 month appt. Kurt is now at the 95th percentile of weight and height, with 50% of head circumference. About 3 weeks ago, he weighted 8lbs, today, he weighs 12 lbs. The nurse who took the weight information actually came back into the room twice to re-weigh him coz she was afraid that she made a mistake. Even the doctor was taken aback with the rapid weight increase. Me? I wasn't too shocked. I'm always dehydrated and it seems that he's stuck to me almost all the time. But, am pretty glad he's doing great. BTW, another thing I noticed about him is that he loves baths. :)
Talking about baths, Brigitta is starting a serious swimming class next Sunday. I can't wait to see if she likes it. They actually teach young kids how to swim underwater, as young as 6 months! I'll let you know what we think. :)
I wish there's an easier way to put pics up on the blog. It just takes so much time and frankly, I prefer to update my blog than Facebook but Facebook knows how to do it more efficiently. Thanks for being patient gentle readers.
Have a great week!
