Kurt Iskandar is already 2 months plus and Brigitta Nurilham is also growing like crazy. Everyday her language skills improve just a little bit more. It's gradual and a delight to see her string sentences together. Sometimes she does one sentence in English and Malay words which is totally cute. I sometimes wish that she grows up a little more slowly. However, due to the immaturity of her brain, she also doesn't know that running on the streets are dangerous or opening an oven door. I have had a couple of times running after her, screaming for her to stop but she just ran faster. For a 2 year old and short legs (shorter than mine), she sure is fast. I love this new area we live in but wish that we have gates that stop just before the streets.
It's been a year since we live in this house. It's cozy, definitely less space than our old house but I love it. The best part is very unsexy...insulation. :) Double pane windows make a big difference in the high and low temps, plus we hardly hear the noise outside. We also just rearranged the living room furniture so that it feels more open up. Toddlers need dancing space you see, and babies need to wave their arms/legs around.
Aside from rearranging furniture and putting in the final decorations in our bedroom, the recent natural disasters also put us in earthquake proof mode. We got a 55-gallon water barrel, walkie talkies, self powered flashlights, first aid kits, emergency food that can lasts 5 years..things like that. We still need to get a couple more things like a 5-day cooler to save the food in the fridge in case there's no electricity, a big box outside that can withstand the elements just to dump all these stuff in, etc, but at least we're about 80% there. Having kids makes me feel so mortal. I worry about them so much especially since they're young. I worry about if anything happening to me or Kevin and who's going to take care of them. Our family members are so far and so busy with their everyday lives. Sigh! The tough part about living so far away from your extended family.
Anyway, I miss writing so hopefully using email will make it easier for me, and I don't have to worry about editing the way it looks on blogger.
Cheers!
