EugeneGene) Sandoval has been one of those guys who spent too many hours around ping pong tables in high school. However, soon enough, Gene understood that there is more to ping pong than having fun. That is how he started a journey that made Eugene one of the experienced semi-professional ping pong players in the United States. As the founder of the PingPongRuler, Eugene spends most of his time surrounded by ping pong tables and research. He always has this knack for coming up with new ping pong strategies and telling the good and bad equipment apart.

One of my favourite TV series from the 90s was MacGyver, an action-adventure series about a US government secret agent with a fabulous mullet, who improvised and built complicated devices from household objects such as rubber bands, paper clips, pens and a Swiss Army knife.
Some modifiers, like umbrellas, will spread the light over a large area and soften the quality of the light. Other modifiers like grid spots contain the light to a very small area and create a hard quality of light (click image above to read more).
The main differences between the high-end options, and MacGyvered lighting are: light quality, consistency, and build. A light modifier that has been cobbled together using found objects is not going to look pretty, and you may attract some odd looks from passers by. On a positive note, I believe a MacGyvered light modifier is a perfect way to get your head around how lighting works, and to vary your lighting styles without having to empty your bank account.
Booms are an awesome way to add light above your model, as they allow the freedom to work without stands getting in the way of your shot. Using a boom is also the best way to position the light exactly where you want it.
Changing the shutter speed controls how much ambient light there is in the image. To create a brighter background, I selected a shutter speed of 1/6th second. Shooting at 1/200th of a second removes most of the ambient light and creates a moodier image. I wanted to create the goldilocks effect, not too heavy, and not too light, but just right.
Hey Gina Milicia, here is a Macgyver light modifier for you. I needed a spot light source to light the model in a convincing way. It was really important to have a soft glow, and realistic shadows, to emulate what the moon would look like. I used a ping pong ball at the end of two empty toilet rolls and then rigged some cardboard to hold the flash. The flash head fits in nicely, and the centre of the toilet rolls are white, allowing it light up to the ball. This image (edited) was shot at 47mm on a 24-70mm f2.8L II lens on a Canon 5D3 at 1/80th, f/3.5 and ISO 500.
This is basically just a Pringles can, with the bottom cut out and replaced by straws, hot glued in place. But I found coloured straws tainted the light, luckily my wife found some paper straws that have a nice bright white inside. The end of the can you get the chips out slides right over all the flashes I have, except this really old Vivitar that has the zoom function on the outside. Pringles has been helpful in providing a variety of lengths of cans for us.
When you are first learning to play pickleball, keep things simple. Hit the ball and get used to the pickleball paddle and ball. If you play tennis, you will need to get used to the feeling of both. A pickleball paddle is smaller than a tennis racquet but larger than a ping-pong paddle. A pickleball ball is similar to a wiffle ball but slightly heavier.
To begin playing you will decide your teams and have each person move to a different corner of the court. The person in the right court will begin serving the ball cross court and the ball must travel past the non-volley zone line. The receiver must let the ball bounce once before returning the serve. Then the server or partner must allow the ball to bounce once more before returning. Now players may begin volleying and moving into the kitchen for play.
Pickleball scoring can be a little confusing at first. The server always says the score in this order: their teams score, their opponents score, the number server they are (either 1 or 2). When you win while serving, you receive a point. If you lose a point while serving, the serve moves to your partner. No one scores a point. If they win while serving, your team receives a point. If they lose the serve rotates to the other team and again no one receives a point.
You can only receive a point while serving. Whoever servers first in a team is server 1 and whoever serves second is server 2. For example, if you are the 2nd server and you have 3 points and your opponents have 4 points, your score would be said aloud, 3-4-2. First team to reach 11 points (win by 2) wins the game. Each match is best two out of three games.
Playing pickleball is so fun and should not be taken too seriously. Especially if you are just learning, you will most certainly make mistakes. The rules can be a bit confusing and are different from tennis, badminton and ping-pong rules. Give yourself a break, and take advantage of the opportunity to learn from your mistakes. As a beginner player, you will be able to get a feel for hitting the ball and begin to learn pickleball skills to improve your level of play.
As you get more comfortable hitting the ball, you may begin to try different pickleball strategies like dink shots. A dink shot is when you hit the ball into the Non-Volley Zone (also known as the kitchen) on your opponents side of the court. Dinks are shots that are low to the ground and difficult to volley. This can keep your opponent from volleying a difficult shot back at you and gives you a moment to recover.
Just as you get in a ready position during a tennis match, the same can be done in Pickleball. You will want to make sure your feet are hips width distance apart and your knees are bent. This will allow you to move quickly from side to side and front to back. You will also want to keep your paddle in front of you with a relaxed yet confident grip.
Pickleball requires a lot of quick movements forward, backward, side to side and twisting in all sorts of directions. You may lunge for the ball, taking quick steps and reaching up, down, forward or back. All of these movements require your body to be limber and flexible. Stretching before playing is a great way to prevent any injuries and help prepare your body for those movements. Try stretching your calves, thighs, shoulders, arms, neck and twisting your body from side to side.
As you begin to play pickleball more, you may decide you want to invest in some nicer equipment. Experienced players may have a preference for certain pickleball paddles and balls. When buying a pickleball paddle you will want to consider the weight, grip and shape. Everyone has a different preference. Some paddles may work better for some versus others. Paddles range in price from around $40 to $150 so you can choose one that suites your needs and budget. Check out some options below.

Fitness and steroid use intersect in the realm of bodybuilding and athletic performance. While fitness enthusiasts strive for physical excellence through dedicated training and nutrition, some individuals turn to anabolic steroids to accelerate muscle growth and enhance performance. In this case, I started looking on the Internet for stores that sell steroids at a good price and without any risk. And Google gave me the site Steroids-USA.net, having placed an order, I received a product of good quality and in the shortest possible time.
My sleep has become deep and sound, and I wake up feeling more awake in the morning. Athletic workouts have become more productive, muscles are more pronounced, and recovery from exercise is amazingly fast.
The blade is a TIBHAR Absolute Allround. This is a wooden blade, again with manageable levels of speed and high levels of control. The bat is custom-made, with proper table tennis glue, which means it is easy to replace /change the rubbers (if needed) and keep the blade.
As the rubber / blade combination is not too fast, I found it quite easy to deal with incoming spin and keep the ball on the table. Blocking topspin shots was super-easy. The other player could really load up with topspin and the bat absorbed the energy and returned the ball easily. This is good! And if the ball had backspin, I found it very easy to push and keep the ball low too.
I always prefer beginner players to start with a slightly slower bat, as it helps them get more balls on the table and encourages them to play with good technique to get some energy into the shots. So the Winning Loop bat scores highly for me on this.
I mentioned it is easy to push with the Winning Loop, but you can really get lots of backspin on the pushes. The tacky rubbers grip the ball well and if you get the brushing contact right you can return the ball low with some very decent backspin rotation.
