The life and work of one of Pakistan’s early masters Ozzir Zuby will be presented by his son Danish Azar Zubi ( DAZ), an artist and architect himself. Danish Zubi will share some of the original works of the famous sculptor and the visitors will get an opportunity to see photographs from family albums in his visual presentation.
Ozzir Zuby was born in 1922 and he graduated from Mayo School of Art ( now NCA) , Lahore, just a few years before Independence. He studied sculpture in Italy and made a successful career creating sculpture portraits of the famous. His experiments in calligraphy attracted critical attention.
This will be the sixth talk and presentation in the series Art Moments curated by Niilofur Farrukh. Held in the third week of every month, it aims to document art history through the interviews of persons who participated in its making. Video recording of the interviews will be a part of the T2F archives.
