Just wondering if there are any decent places around this area for flying larger models (e.g. Apprentice S 15e)?

Alex,

Currently I fly my scratchbuilt planes at either Catlin or Livermore park. I have found that early in the morning or the last hour of daylight or between 2:PM and about 4:P.M. offer the best chances of finding those places pretty much empty. I guess I might qualify at the 'intermediate' skill level since I no longer put my planes into the surrounding trees, or neighboring yards anymore. But back when I was a mere 'beginner' I logged a lot of time honing my skill out off of Douglas road as shown below, its about a ½ mile square area, flat as a pancake, no trees, and no pucker-factor! And there is even a great place to park off the road.
