There’s an open-to-all-flyers RC meetup, BBQ and swap meet happening on Sunday afternoon and evening near Folsom.
Here’s a link to the info (http://www.parkflysac.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2113) and a direct map link (https://goo.gl/maps/9QDbh). This is put on by Sacramento Area Parkflyers, an informal ‘unclub’ kind of like Folsom Flyers but centered in Sac and larger. I went to the BBQ last year in Natomas and it was a lot of fun. This year they are holding it quite near Folsom. This is a really friendly, relaxed group that includes all kinds of flyers including planes, wings, helis, quads, FPV and more. They welcome everyone who loves to fly and no have no rules except common sense and courtesy. There will probably be 50+ people there. I know that at least Radha, Russell, myself and probably others from this mail list will be there. Come on by and check it out. Bring something to BBQ if you’d like.
I’ve been doing a bit of park flying, a bit of night flying and quite a bit of sloping while the wind’s still here. Wednesday was an awesome sloping day on Folsom Lake. 17 mph winds from the NW were perfect for Dike 8 and I flew from the top of the levy for an hour without turning the motor on. Today, the wind was 9 mph from the SW, ideal conditions for Costco Hill and I flew there for an hour after work. I’ve got an RC Factory Edge 540 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yR55Iw_k8Ik#t=33) sitting on the bench waiting to be built but I’ve been flying too much!
See you Sunday if you can make it…
