You posted a similar question regarding your lost device. If you did not have Find My iPhone activated, then there is no way for you to delete files. Did you have a passcode on the device? If so, if someone finds it, they will need to restore it to try and access it. If you have iOS 7 on it, when they try to restore, without your Apple ID and password, they will not be able to activate the device. If you did not have a passcode on the device, then they would have complete access to all of your data, so you need to make sure that you change all of your passcodes.
Thanks for the reply @connor188, but how can i log in my account in an alternative device if the digit codes will be sent in my stolen sim card. Get it? If there's any way you can tell me more about how, please help me. Thanks
And also I'm asking this "Also, if the one who got my phone trashed my sim card and inserted a new one. Will my Viber messages and photos will be deleted there?" That's the important part for me to know if it's a yes or a no. If this question got anwsered then my viber files will be safe.
Yes I know that. But I just want to post here to. Just to be sure because I saw some viber issue are posted here too. If i'm not mistaken. Just please bear with me. I also contacted them in e-mails and other sites.
And I replied to your issue about a user changing the SIM. See the part where I talked about your phone being locked with a passcode. As far as you accessing information from Viber, you need to contact Viber to ask them. However, if your phone was locked, as I said earlier, then no one could access your files. As far as the SIM is concerned, nothing from the iPhone is written to the SIM. It only contacts your account information from your carrier. If you phone can be accessed, then your Viber account can be accessed, unless it is password protected. I do not use Viber, so I cannot answer that question. Any issues with Viber, as I stated before, should be addressed to Viber to answer. It is not an Apple application.
Yes. I know that it should be addressed by Viber team but I was just hoping if someone here has the same case and can fill me up with the details. But thanks anyway @ChrisJ4203. You helped me solved some things
I was using Viber on my old phone. I stopped using that SIM card/number and stopped using that phone. I forgot to deactivate my Viber account. When my old SIM card carrier sells my old number to a new person, does that person access my Viber contacts and people I was talking to?
Assuming the platform works similar to WhatsApp or Signal Private Messenger. Viber should only use your phone number as a unique identifier, and no content (contacts or messages) should be stored on the server side.
This seems to be confirmed by Viber such that message backups are done through a cloud service; Google Drive or iCloud. Also, Viber uses end-to-end encryption, so their servers cannot see the content of messages, only metadata.
I lost my phone last Friday, May 31. I was able to get already a replacement SIM card for me to use the same no. again for my new phone now. My Facebook was already hacked yesterday since my FB app in my lost phone was open just like my emails and VIBER accounts.
So I'm on Viber, now everybody on my contacts (and probably who has my contact even they're not on my contact) who's in Viber know that I'm on Viber too and they can send me private messages or can call me anytime. I simply block those people, I used Viber only for the sake of my family, and I only want them to contact me on Viber.
Everything's fine with me because whoever calls me if they're not part of my family, then BLOCK is the key. But then today somebody called me, I don't know this person but for some reason, the phone number is saved on my contact. I blocked this person, but since he knows my number, he used another Viber account and send me another message, and called me.
Fact # 2. When I travel internationally for business in 2012 Oct, I called prior to my trip to turn on the international calling feature on only for specific time frame, then I had requested to turn off the date that I was back to States. Verizon customer only changed me the monthly international feature on the specific date range that I had requested. But international calling feature was on for "FREE" without my knowledge by Verizon. The reason from Verizon customer service was "FOR MY CONVINENCE BECAUSE YOU TRAVEL INTERNATIONALLY SO WE HAVE IT ON SO THAT YOU DON'T HAVE TO CALL AND ACTIVATE IT EVERYTIME YOU TRAVEL" . The reason I did not want it on because I got reimbursement from my employer for all the calls and service charges while I was travelling for business, then regular monthly bill is my personal responsibility. Because of that I do not want internationally calling feature on in my phone even for "free". I used Viber, Skype to call my personal calls, I don't want Verizon network to accidentally pick up or being charge on Verizon network for my personal calls. This was why I never want international feature even for FREE. Verizon had put the free international feature without my consent.
Now on 7/17/2014 I used Viber to call Myanmar and Verizon charged me $167.88 for that call. 1st Verizon customer service said I used Viber that Verizon did not authorize to use it than I have my international line on. When Viber application failed my called to Myanmar was used Verizon network. I said , Reason 1) I had no knowledge that I was using Verizon network because I knew I used "free call" form my Viber contact list,
I went to Verizon store to turn off my international calling feature immediately and I asked Verizon to fully credit back the $167.88 (this Viber Call). I had been denied by Verizon customer service. I'm awaiting to resolve this issue and fully refund $167.88 before I'm deciding to renew my another 2 more years contract with Verizon for iPhone 6. At this moment I was penalized by free service international calling feature was put in my phone without my knowledge that cause this unfortunate error. I was very disappointed by Verizon and greatly regarded for leaving unlimited data plan by AT&T to join Verizon a few years ago.
You need to bring it up with Viber and not Verizon. You could take this to court and a judge will tell you the same thing. Doesn't matter what carrier you are with. You used an app which claimed free calling, but didn't deliver.
What number to you use to call Myanmar. I want to send photo via text messaging. I dialed 011 95 followed by the Myanmar cell phone number. It is failing on all accounts. Have you ever sent a text or photo to Myanmar? If so, how did you do it?
Getting a new number verified is akin to verifying a new Viber account . An SMS with a code will be sent to your new phone number, or a hang-up call (for Android users alone). Type in the code you received when prompted. Once verified your number will be changed, and your Viber will be just the way it was before you switched numbers.
This is a key setting to look into. Viber is end to end encrypted, which means that messages are only acessible by both the sender and the receiver, not being stored anywhere along the way. This also means that if you lose or change the device you are using, all your messages will be lost. Viber offers the possibility of backing up your chat history using cloud services (Google Drive, iCloud or Huaweii Drive) so that you can restore your session to how it was at the time of the backup, if using a new device.
This setting is a potential threat to your privacy as anyone that would potentially get access to your Apple, Google or Huaweii account, could also access all of your conversations. It might also be possible for law enforcement to access it which is not the case with the conversation on your phone.
In the Account menu you can also check see your active Viber sessions. Maybe you use Viber on your phone, tablet and/or computer, and this way you can make sure that you know what each and all of those sessions are. We recommend you delete all sessions that you are not currently using and making sure there are no active sessions that you are unaware of.

Deactivation of a Viber account can only take place within the application itself. If you have already uninstalled Viber and would like to deactivate your account, you will need to re-install Viber in order to do so.
