This year’s deadline for our Emerging Showcase has been extended to May 20th. During this extension period we have made a downladable application avail on our website, one that does not involve Sonicbids. We are no longer accepting showcase subs thru Sonicbids at this time.

Those who have already applied via Sonicbids are fine, this is basically a Sonicbids workaround for artists who would rather not deal with Sonicbids. We know Sonicbids continues to have huge problems and many in this community, just cannot work with them anymore, thanks, Anne

I see that's what they do, but what happens when you have monitized
your own Youtube channel? isn't that pilfering a cut from your own
share, in a payment system you've already set up?

    Thanks.

They pestered me and were quite persistent but they ended up NOT forcing me
to pay myself for using my own music. The "associate" who contacted me
said that musicians who use their own music on YouTube actually makes up less
than 1% of all the music used on YouTube. He indicated that there are
(literally) millions of YouTube video's created by non-musicians who freely
use unlicensed music on monitized channels and that's who they are going
    after...

He finished by explaining it was in MY best interest that he be
    successful....

My experience is they collect monies owed from private parties for
"licensing" (i.e. when some civilian turns part of your tune into a ringtone or
someone grabs your music for a youtube video....) Not a lot of money but they
send me something almost every month which proves they are catching
revenue for me that I would NOT have otherwise found.

I know they are both diligent and (often) belligerent because in two
seperate occassions they made me PROVE that I owned the music attached to my OWN
youtube videos... and they checked BMI to insure I was the author... and
they weren't too 'nice' about it.
