Hey y'all  - I did ask Madalyn, and she got back to me, fyi.  She says using lists to send messages has been disabled by FB, and she doesn't know of any plug-ins or workarounds.

:(

Very frustrating.

I have to respectfully disagree with Mike. I think FB was originally conceived as a networking/connection tool for college students, and a way to organize meetups, then to let families and groups stay connected, etc. but has totally disintegrated into a "me me me" mouthing-off platform with mostly stupid insignificant stuff, with  every once in a while worthwhile messages. Musician Carrie Brownstein wrote a great opt-ed piece about this phenomena recently in the NY Times. I can see its value for people who are homebound, can't get out, and want to experience life vicariously by reading about others' activities.  Occasionally important news is spread quickly thru FB - I first heard about Vic Heyman's passing on FB, for example.  But you have to wade through a lot of time-wasting silliness to get there.

I especially like the humor posted - visuals that really make me smile and have found their niche on FB.  But as a useful promotional tool, I'm pretty down on it at the moment.

Think I'd rather have 300 really good email contacts than 700  FB "friends" :)  Remembering however, that people may change their email addresses, but keep their FB profiles.  So there's a bit more consistency on FB that way.  The problem is, accessing everyone you want to in a group message or by an invite - maybe some of you have the knack of doing it, but I find that creating invites is also very tenuous;  It takes way too much time to select  people you want to invite to....  unless I'm doing something wrong?  Then please enlighten me!
