yes. i got it. i've always found that for mailing a small amount of CDs USPS was cheaper than UPS. plus up to about 3 or 4 CDs, first class makes more sense than media mail if shipping time is not a factor.

Mike's auto responder was responding to the list. When his response was transmitted by the list, his auto responder responded to that, so every time it responded, it had to respond to itself again. I bet he's going to be really embarrassed.

Yes..use the USPS... not UPS unless you are shipping to a foreign country (and a big bunch of CD's) and need tracking and proof of receipt.

Of course. I think USPS is cheaper for sending a small, light package like a CD. It’s basically a thick letter. UPS may be better for sending a big carton of them.

It wasn’t your fault. When Mike’s computer gets an e-mail from the list it sends an autoreply to the list. That message goes to everyone on the list — including Mike. When his computer gets the autoreply it replies back to the list, and so on, around and around in an infinite loop. See also Groundhog Day and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.

Mike is an engineer. He should have known. It might be a service AOL provides, and they usually don’t know.
