Request for information on smpd.exe

Hi all,

I've got a slightly controversial request.

When the SMP client for Windows was released I posted on FCF asking
what smpd.exe was for. I'd like to use the information which was
posted in response to the question in the FAH Wiki article on smpd.exe
now that the WinSMP is in open-beta.

Is someone willing to send me the info in the smpd.exe thread from the
beta forum?

Or better yet, for the Mods on this list, would it be possible to move
the whole smpd.exe thread out of the beta forum, now that the WinSMP
client is no longer beta-only?

I'd like to provide as much info as possible, which I'm documenting at
the moment. Due to the effort to figure out why the SMP client on OSX
doesn't like networking changes and the the SMP clients use of MPICH2.
