Installing F@H under Win 7

I download the xp/vista installation package.
Win 7 installs FAH in ProgramFiles/Folding@Home/Folding@Home-x86; a
location I seem to have no control over.
Next I double click on the FAH icon to start the program, and then all
I get are mssgs: F@H Core download error (#13), waiting for retry,
and (#14) etc.

Anyone have experience installing under Win 7?? :-(
