No way to create shortcuts!

I am on a Galaxy Note 8,Android 8.0.0. I didn't mind not having any bookmarks, but now the app keeps trashing every time I try to create a shortcut! I sent an email to the developer, but have not heard back from them. Is anyone else having problems?
