I have nothing showing in the FO bookmarks list. I don't have the default native Android browser. My Nexus 5 uses Chrome by default.

Chrome has "mobile bookmarks", "bookmarks bar", and "other bookmarks". All have bookmarks in them, but nothing shows in FO.

I have also tried multiple browsers, hoping one would use the same location/format as the native browser, but nothing works. I even tried installing an old apk for the native browser, but it won't work with Marshmallow.

So, what's the easiest method to get bookmarks into FO if you don't have the native browser? Is it a matter of using a specific browser, or maybe a tool to create the correct bookmarks file for FO?

Assuming that nothing works (searching here didn't help), then what is FO looking for? Is it the location and format of the native browser bookmarks file? If anyone knows the details of this, and if the format is simple text/xml/html, then I'd be happy to just type my own file, to get FO to import the bookmarks.

Cheers

It's because of marshmallow. A technical change that I don't have the background to understand.

Is there a work around for this? Devs? Would really like to include bookmarks even if I have to manually place the bookmarks somewhere.

Yeah, even the ability within FO to just paste a URL, give it a name, and assign an icon would be great. All I need really

I have resorted to using Chrome's "Add to home screen", then dragging them into a folder.

Can you describe how you do that? I saved a site to my homepage but cannot drag it into an existing FO folder. When I try, the folder just moves out of the way. I'm using Chrome browser on Android (Note 4) with Verizon.

The only way to go around this is to use 5.1 to create a shortcut for every bookmark u have, then export from 5.1 to import to 6.1. This way ull have the bookmarks as shortcuts in 6.1
I dont like doing it this way (tedious) and hope a solution is posted soon.

If u have lollipop on a different mobile, then u can do all the needed settings of bookmarks on lollipop, then create shortcuts for every bookmark, then export the setting to marshmallows using the export feature of FO. Copy the exported file to your marshmallows mobile and import it using the import feature of FO. This way ull see all ur bookmarks as shortcuts on ur marshmallow.

I wasn't clear - drag to an android folder, not an FO folder.

I also need to organize url shortcuts with labels. In particular I need to label links to play store url with the app icon shown as the bookmark icon.
In this way I can uninstall unused apps and maintain links to them in the original FO label.
Someone have an alternative?

That's what I've been doing too.

I'm glad I found this thread, I've been trying to figure out for weeks what I'm doing wrong!

Glextor, saw in another post around here about the dev being Mia. They specifically mentioned something about this. Hope that helps!
